agp card upgrade question (gainward 6600 or nvidia 6600)

hi pips, long time since i posted here, im trying to upgrade an old rig with an asus a7v8x-x and athlonxp 2200 paired with a pc ati 9200se card agp that i purchased 2004 pa ata. sayang din kasi. m thinking of getting a gainward 6600 or an nvidia fx6600 oc na agp, both are on sale sa pcx. check ko sa net na gddr3 daw ung mem nun. panu yun, pwede pa kaya yun sa board ko na ddr lang supported?

Get the GDDR3 version, some FX6600 comes only with GDDR2. And it would be nice also to upgrade your cpu.

ok lang yung gddr3 or gddr2 kahit asus a7v8x-x lang board that only has agp ddr? or sa mem lang pa pasabot ana?

nahan lage ko upgrade, la pa man pera. richard burns rally lang naman nilalaro ko.

sir just an idea,
with today's computer technology transition, the word "pc upgrade", can roughly mean enhancing a single component of your rig, its meaning is starting to become like; "discard your old pc and get a new one"
today's low-end pc, which is im sure as cheap as expensive when you bought your pc way back 2004 is faster than your current rig.

remember sir, your pc is as fast as its slowest component.

just check you board's agp slot if it is 4x or 8x since kung x4 lang then 8x yung video card mo mag rurun lang siya at x4 which defeats you upgrade. my 2 cents. and get the DDR3.

@handsoff241: The word sayang means, ni value sya sa usa ka butang or naa nay sentimental value.

He may upgrade to new PC and disregard the old one but sayang pud ang old one nga pwede pa ma gamit and even not all people can afford. He means nga if mo upgrade sya sa vcard to latest one pwede ba sa iyang PC...and of course pwede kaayo backward compatible na ang mga AGP slots nga 4x to 8x.

@handsoff241: naa manpud kay point bro and so do I, I prefer to the new PC now a days. But for me sa panahon karon we have to be smart enough nga sege tag palit2x kay naa may bag-o, naa man pud old pero naay way nga ma upgrade and that was the @TS means.

@yugi i understand your sentiments sa TS, for my part i was just concerned sa value of the money he gets when he buys that agp vcard.

well anyway; it's up to him to decided either way he may get whats he want cause as you've said his pc has sentimental values char! hehehe

i find this overrated. y buy new if satisfied ka sa imuha gamit karon? mga taw gyud ron gaming rig nlng ang permi mo matter. just my opinion ha.

ok pa man tong pc, just need extra push sa graphics. m not into high-end gaming. richard burns rally at generals lang laro ko. hehe... sale kasi pcx ang gainward 6600 at nvidia fx6600 oc. my concern is if pwede ba yung ddr3 na agp sa board ko na agp 8x.
