Who will the villain be?
It is yet to be revealed exactly which villain will be terrorizing Earth in this installment. There has been much speculation as to who it will be, but there remains no official statements from film's camp. The villain is said to be be a great physical threat to Superman, trading punches in a grand battle the likes of what we expect from a Superman story.
Co-writer Dan Harris stated at Comic-Con 2007 that there will be two villians. He didn't state which two villians, however, but director Bryan Singer has confirmed one of the two villains to be alien. Since that time, Harris and co-writer Michael Dougherty have left the project, and based on their departure and recent public statements, it would seem that their story was scrapped as well.
Is it coming out in 2011?
Probably not. It has been speculated that WB's plans are for Green Lantern and Green Arrow are to be released in 2010, a possible Nolan Batman in 2011, and either Singer or Millar's Superman in 2012. Of course all is subject to change.
