Are modified CPU coolers only for overclocked CPUs?

Mao na akong question mga bro ba...

Kanang mga gahi na CPU coolers from Zalman and etc. gani.. Applicable raba na sa CPUs na gipang overclock since nangihinanglan na sila ug intense cooling. Or okay raba kung palitan pd nimo ug mga ing-ana ang usa ka CPU na wala gi overclock? would it be necessary?

Since naa mn ko plans mopalit ug new video card gud, I was thinking na kahinanglan ug CPU cooler akong e4600 para di kaau siya mo init since mo handle na siya ug "bug-at" na video card. Sakto ba?

you don't need aftermarket coolers just because you're upgrading the video card. the stock hsf should do well for you but if you want lower temps and lower noise, then go for it.

yup naa ra gyud na sa imo, the usual reasons for upgrading cpu coolers are:

1. improve cooling (not really necessary if using stock speeds)
2. lower the noise coming from stock hsf
3. aesthetics..bling2x / tech pr0n

No, I have several friends who use after market coolers ( even highend ones ) and just run @ stock speed for the reason that they want their CPU to run really cool and totally silent.

If your system is cooler, it will last longer and run smoother.
Just imagine a car, kung init kaayo ang makina nya way klaro ang radiator, dali ra madaot, pero kung maayo kaayo ang radiator then mas dugay gyud maguba ang makina.

Stock fans can fulfill their purpose of keeping the CPU sufficiently cool.

Not for overclocking, stock coolers does not give enough room to keep the cpu/vga cool enough.

you dont really need to buy coolers because you added a video card.
stocks fans can fulfill their role.

aftermarket coolers make your computer "macho" looking. ^_^
as the posters above said. it will improve your cooling (if thats what you wanted but it's not necessarily needed)

Not for overclocking, stock coolers does not give enough room to keep the cpu/vga cool enough.

Some guys lucky enough to get a low VID cpu ( like a Q6600 at a mere 1.190~1.210 ) can do 3.2Ghz with stock cooler.

Or one lives in north pole, you wont need more than a stock cooler.. heck basin passive kaya! XD

Its all about Overclocking to get more out of your money. And Overclocking the CPU will need some decent cooling to maintain processor stability.
