Default Undecided: MSI Wind U100 Or Asus Eee Pc1000?

Hubby's getting me a "minitop" as my birthday present this Friday. I'm torn between these two contenders though.

Here are the specs on the ones I'm eyeing right now:

    Asus

1.6ghz, 1gb ram, 80gb SATA, 1.3 mp webcam, XP as OS

    MSI Wind

1.6ghz, 2gb ram, 160gb SATA, 1.3 mp webcam, XP as OS

The price difference isn't much. It's around php1000. I'm undecided because I don't know which one is better, if memory is disregarded.

I've seen both and they both look good.

I will be using the minitop to do paperwork, chatting with hubby, and possibly voip.

    Please help.

    Thanks

if msi wind comes with a 6-cell battery, go get it. but if only 3 cell, i'd get the eee pc1000----> this is from an eee pc1000 owner who hates to be tied up with powercords :0

Honestly, na turn off ako with my msi wind experiece, when i saw na nagsilabasan na ang mga 10" netbooks, ayun nabuhayan nanaman yung dugo ko na bumili ng netbook, so after some research nakita ko na good buy na talaga yung msi wind kasi P19,999 you have the free 160gb upgrade na. pero after 2 weeks of using it i realized na sobrang sama ng build quality nya, the top part(which houses the lcd) sobrang wobbly, feeling ko madaling masisira yung hinge nun..tapos batt life sucks big time, kapag naka 1/4 brightness super dilim na compared to the 1000h.
Ako ra ni share dinhi mga bai. If you still have doubts try to visit netbooks-ph.net we have expert's there. You can PM the admin and ask anything regarding netbooks. See you there!

I doubt if anyone looking to buy a netbook or a laptop that they would head over FHM for an opinion. Might as well check laptop/PC mags like PCMagazine or PCWorld, or CNET Asia reviews.

Ditto on this since netbooks are mostly aimed for road warriors. Its best to have a lot of juice when you want to use wifi in the office, or in a cafe. The eeepc901 might be the best option for longer usage as it can last up to 7hours on lowest settings.

But if you're just going to use this at home or in the office and you dont mind being wired, then either one is ok since the battery life would be out of the equation.
