For newbies:

Hottentotta Hottentotta (Congo Red Alligator Back Scorpion)

7-8cm large scorpion can be found almost everywhere in Africa

The substrate is a mixture of sand and soil (60/40), should be about 5cm deep. Stones or pieces of bark serves them as hides.

A small bottle cap for drinking should not be missing. Spray some water into the enclosure every 2 weeks.

Hottentotta hottentotta is a very aggressive scorpion. The venom of this species is a 3-3.5 out of 5, but although they do not belong to the most venomous scorpions or deadly scorpions one should be very careful because of their aggressiveness. Respect for these kind of animals is critical to its care.

This can be kept communally but expect cannibalism when they reach 3I just provide enough hides.

One last thing that has to be mentioned when talking about this scorpion is that they are parthenogenetic. That means that a female of this species can get gravid without ever mating with a male before. Most slings produced through parthenogenesis are females. It's very rare that there will be a male sling.

Well, kanang ako gi post sa taas labelled "For newbies" could possibly help you know about keeping this scorpion. Every different scorpions have different needs man gud.

This is a level 3 scorpion, dili gyud dangerous. If ma sting ka, mag suka suka ka and malipong for some hours. And bisag level 1 pa dili ka angay pa sting cause you might be allergic sa venom. Respect to this living thing is important. This could be dangerous to kids or babies.
