p35 chipsets
The P35 is a mainstream desktop computer chipset from Intel released in June 2007, although motherboards featuring the chipset were available a month earlier.[3] The P35 Express chipset supports Intel's LGA775 socket and Core 2 Duo and Quad processors, and is also known to support 45nm Wolfdale/Yorkfield dual and quad core CPUs. Intel also officially drops support for Intel's older Pentium 4 and Pentium D processors with this chipset.[4]
It is notable for providing the first commodity support of DDR3 SDRAM. (It also supports DDR2 SDRAM; the choice is made by the motherboard manufacturer.) Another notable point is that it does not provide Parallel ATA support; most 2007 motherboards add PATA support via a JMicron JMB361 or JMB363 chip.
It was codenamed 'Bearlake' before it was commercially released in June 2007.[5]

p45 chipsets
The P45 Express (Codename 'Eaglelake') is a mainstream desktop computer chipset from Intel released in Q2 2008. The first mainboards featuring the P45 Chipset were shown at CeBit 2008.[5][6][7][8]
The P45 Express chipset supports Intel's LGA775 socket and Core 2 Duo and Quad processors. It is a 65nm chipset, compared to the earlier generation chipsets (P35, X38, X4which were 90nm. [9]
