Default Linksys BEFSX41 wont work with globe broadband?

I set my Siemens Speedstream 4200 modem/router to BRIDGE mode and tried linksys befsx41 router to dial up the connection for me..

    but PPPoE wont connect....

PPPoE man nakabutang VPI/VCI 0/35 katong router mode pa ang speedstream 4200...

Cant get my linksys router to work with globe's supplied modem/router.

in which karon ga dial up lang kog PPPoE dire ron sa ako pc... okay raman.....

its just questionable why my linksys cant get the PPPoE connection, where i CAN dial up PPPoE using windows dialer.

Is it that small black square modem, maybe 12x12 centimeters, 5 LED's and the word speedstream above them?
If that is the one, it works at least with D-Link router / dual wan router. Any chance that a firmware upgrade of the linksys would improve it?
I had a linksys g router (wrt54gs or something like that, forgot...), and that worked too with that modem, but I flashed the firmware to dd-wrt....

    i see. okay.

did you check thoroughly the config in your modem as "pure" bridge mode if there were mishaps?

are the IP addresses of the two equipments same? there are some firmwares do conflicts even one is in pure bridge mode.

ya im pretty sure its in pure bridge mode, im using a dialer in XP to establish internet.

@softouch_ph: i will look on to firmware later if its latest. You are suggesting for firmware upgrade on the linksys right? your description of the modem is right. and after setting this modem/router to bridge, you lose your access to firmware configuration page. to go back to normal, router, you need to hardly reset the modem to factory defaults.

hmmm, there are many possibilities here. ive heard, that speedstream modem also has faulty firmware to some routers.

you can email first linksys to address the issue.

alright It just went fine... after I upgraded the firmware, tried to connect via modem... wont work... I did reset the router to factory defaults and it connect right away!

    to make it brief:
    1. set the siemens to bridge mode
    2. upgraded my linksys befsx41's firmware to 1.52.15
    3. reset the router (reset button at the back)
    4. reconfigure PPPoE settings (username, password, mtu = 1492)

You should always reset the router BEFORE and AFTER upgrading any firmware...
You should try the DD-WRT firmware, linux based, has IP tables and so on, very stable and secure.
