try lang sa these...maybe it would work before you do the config stuff..hehe
is it a wrt54g?or gp2? anyways,shut down pc,modem and router first..(in case of modem and router-unplug).... at the back of router,ul see a port which says internet/wan and other ports which says pc/lan and they are numbered 1,2,3,4 and so on...connect the ethernet cable from your isp modem to the internet/wan port of the router,
then, connect another ethernet cable usually it comes with your router package...
connect the first end of that cable to the pc/lan port number 1
connect the other end of that cable to ur pc..
power up starting with modem-wait till lights are steady
power up router-wait till lights are steady
power up pc...check internet..if none,check lights of router and see if wan and lan1 lights are on...
