it depends on what kind of investor you are. if ur conservative type then time deposit is right for u para at ease imong feeling and also depende pud if asa nakalaan imong money. yet, time deposit interest rates are just super low.

In deposit terminology, the term Time Deposit refers to a savings account or certificate of deposit that pays a fixed rate of interest until a given maturity date. Funds placed in a Time Deposit usually cannot be withdrawn prior to maturity or they can perhaps only be withdrawn with advanced notice and/or by having a penalty assessed.

For example, a Time Deposit will often be used by individuals, businesses and financial institutions around the world as a means of storing their liquid funds for a fixed period of time for future use. In the retail market, Time Deposits are relatively safe investments when provided by insured financial institutions such as banks, savings and loan corporations and credit unions that are duly regulated within the country in which they operate.

ok kaau ni siya bro if dako2x imo itime deposit kay dako2x pud ang imo makuha na interest. depende pud if peso or dollar account imo itime deposit ug pila ang terms.

ok this is how it works sa time deposit. if you have money you open an account in time deposit earning at an average interest of 1-4% monthly, quarterly, semi annually, etc. depends on how long you want it to grow. your money somehow will be put into a "lock time period" meaning you can't withdraw your money at a certain span of time until you reach the maturity period, though naa way imo na mawithdraw in certain case but it'll become a loan.

bout your question if it's safe? of course it's safe the bank assures you the interest rates so ila jud na ihatag nimo or else breach of contract sila nimo..hehe

but naa lain place where you can put your money at an interest rate of 8%-12% annually or even more. if you're interested with the info you can just pm me.

id be happy to share some. ^_^

for safe keeping purposes ok ra na ang time deposit kay sa itago ra nimo sa drawer, interest is slightly higher than regular savings but not big enough to cover inflation rate
