We have a lease line connection from GLOBEQUEST (GLOBE) for PHP 15,000.00 a month. I have not seen the exact contract for such lease but here's what I know so far.
1. We have 6 STATIC public IP's that can be used.
2. The subnet masking is set to /29 or 255.255.255.248.
3. The modem/router of globe has a SERIAL IP and a NETWORK IP written on it.
4. Our SDSL speed is 2mbps upload and download.
Here are some of my questions:
1. How come when I connect Globe's modem/router to our internal router (DLINK's LB-604), the internet doesn't flow. I tried setting the the connection to DHCP or STATIC on the DLINK but still doesn't work. ( internet --> globe's modem/router --> DLINK router --> switch --> pcs )
2. When I'll just connect 4 pc units to Globe's modem/router (it is also set to be a DHCP server and ROUTER), the internet flows. But the thing is, I can't share a network printer. ( internet --> globe's modem/router --> pcs )
3. I tried internet --> globe's modem router --> switch ---> PCs, still doesn't flow.
4. Anyone here knows how to access the gigantic (looks 5 times bigger than pldt's zyxel p-600 serires modem router and has it's own fan! ) modem/router of this connection?
PS: If I use our PLDT connection in any of these set-ups, everything is perfectly ok. Ergo, if my connection is internet --> pldt modem/router --> DLINK router --> switch --> PC = works great. If connection is internet --> pldt's modem/router --> switch --> pc, works great as well....
Any insites will be greatly appreciated.
