Poet/playwright Vim Nadera and Alvin Buenaventura of Filipinas Copyright Licensing Society, Inc.(FILCOLS ), hold a free seminar on Intellectual Property Rights in Turtle's Nest Book Cafe on August 21, 2010. Registration starts at 9:00 am.
FILCOLS advocates reproduction rights among literary, dramatic, scientific, and educational institutions in the country. According to the World Intellectual Property Organization, copyright-based industries contribute 4.82% to our annual GDP. "Copyright employs people, " says Buenaventura. Alvin Buenaventura of Filipinas Copyright Licensing Society, Inc. will also talk about the copyright as the artist's human rights. He will discuss how writers and musicians can protect themselves from copyright infringements.
