but it would be great "if" he's athletically gifted or would pursue training to have a extraordinary leaping ability 'coz his 6'4" frame would be for naught....

the guy is so disciplined that I wouldn't wonder if he develops his vertical leap and other facets of his game in due time..you can't have it all, and I disagree that if he is not too athletic, his 6-4 frame would go to naught...there are other facets of the game where he can excel without being too athletic

it will bro...trust me....look at Arwind Santos, can he do those things like averaging double figures in points & rebounds for FEU in UAAP if he didn't have an extraordinary vertical leap?! i know in bball, there are 2 things gift & developed talent....I just hope he can develop the latter....

There are a lot of guys without much athleticism that still made a good mark in the way they play their game even in the NBA..you think Jeff Hornacek, Steve Kerr, Tony Dela Cruz, Mick Pennisi, Paolo Mendoza, Peja Stojakovic, Larry Fonacier..and the list goes on..these guys aren't really athletic like Vince Carter or Lebron James, Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan, Ron Artest, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Danny Seigle, Jay Washington, but they stand out over some of the more athletic guys...you see, athleticism is not everything in basketball, you have to be smart....Man, you should watch the guy in training and you know USC just dug a goldmine

Somehow, we should set a standard as to how athletic would mean. Normally, we define an athletic basketball player as one who can leap high or sprint fast down the court. In the dictionary meaning, athletic means "physically active and strong; good in sports or athletics" or in short, is fit to be an athlete.

But athletic or not, in whatever meaning we give to being athletic, what matters is that a player must be able to gel well and create good chemistry with his teammates, especially on the court. What can those high flying dunks and blinding passes do if the team can't even win a single game? Basketball IQ and maturity is more important. A team of 5 players working as one is a lot better than a team who's got a lot of good or athletic (in our own meaning of athletic) players who works individually.
