I don't have a problem in the case of Kobe winning the MVP plum, but that does not mean he deserves the MVP. Most of us would think that Kobe "deserves" it because he's getting old, and that, Kobe not winning an MVP is a crime.
Mura'g "sige, imoha lang sa ni karon, dugay2x na bitaw ka sige handom aning MVP".
I don't know about you but that's what I'm thinking right now. Also, I understand about his request to be traded, after all, Kobe is "human".
I'm not really a Kobe hater or someone that posts comments against him, but the way the other 4 players who are in consideration of the award have bigger impacts than that of Kobe.
Kevin Garnett - KG's arrival in Boston clearly stirred the whole Eastern Conference, if not, the NBA. The Celtics gave up 100 points at least 6 times when he was injured resulting to a 7-5 record, before his absence, he boosted the entire squad with his defensive repertoire by allowing opponents to score 100+ in just 5 times in 42 games.
His numbers are down compared to his early years, but his defense is a strong indication that shifted the whole attention to the Celtics, resulting in an 18-3 record against the wild, wild West.
Lebron James - Statistics-wise, Lebron is doing the necessary things to keep HIS team afloat. We saw that all season and he is arguably the best player in the league right now with those numbers going up and it won't probably go down until his waning years. With no No. 2 in Lebron's side, he was able to carry the whole Cavaliers team.
The addition of Ben, Wally, Joe Smith and Delonte West is pretty solid, but Lebron is still the MAN in the offensive end. It's like he knows he has to do it because everybody else sucks.
Steve Nash - Two MVP awards and he's still in the race for it. Also, he is the heart and soul of the Phoenix Suns. Clearly, Nash has proven once again that he can still deliver and with minor injuries of Amare and Grant Hill keeping them out of the games this year, plus, with the Shaq blockbuster trade, Nash was able to maintain the high game level of the team.
Chemistry has back-pedaled a bit but Nash was able to handle it well at both ends, making way for another double-digit average in assists four years in a row.
Chris Paul - Paul finished his third year with 21.1 ppg and 11.6 apg and has "made everyone around him better" (sounds familiar). David West became an All-Star, Chandler became a rebounding demon (confidence up knowing he's gonna get his points later), made Peja Stojakovic found his mark at last, and making coach Byron Scott the Coach of the Year.
His stats have improved dramatically and led his team to the second best record in the grabeh ka-gahi na West. With most teams rely on their multiple weaponry, the Hornets NEED Paul to pump things in New Orleans for their offensive assault.
Chris Paul, dare I say, is the best PG in the league right now. And the MVP.
Just remember that this is my own opinion, but if you really want to prove your point, FIRE AWAY!!!
... pero OT mani gud. diri ang ko kutob.
