Everybody is serving their own purpose. What if their guards di mangigo? Look at how USA is playing right now, they just don't rely on their shooting and excellent passing and teamwork, that's why in the first place gamit tanan. A decent shooting big man is not really a priority right now. Howard, Amare and Chandler are more athletic and looks more dominant than Duncan and KG probably because of their youth, something USA really needs inside the paint.

FYI.. Tim Duncan was nursing a foot injury during the 2004 Olympics...
That's miserable for him but what made it more miserable for him and the whole USA squad was that he himself was missing his shots. And look at how other teams has been toying USA around, they get easy shots inside. Other than Duncan, Lamar Odom, Carlos Boozer and rookie Emeka Okafor are the only legit big men they have, maybe include Shawn Marion who could play inside. The presence of the trio of big men USA have right now changes that and it intimidates other teams now and let them settle for outside shots.

problem with 2004 was that only Duncan was doing good in the frontcourt...the rest: Amare, Okafor, Boozer and Odom were playing below par, in fact Odom was playing more of an outside game even if he started at PF, wala ka establish sa iyaha role. While it is good to have that outside shooting big man, he should not forget about getting rebounds, defending inside the paint, etc..This time around mas established ilahang inside game mainly because Dwight Howard, Tyson Chandler and Amare have assimilated their roles so well.

as i have said, with the way they are playing now outside-shooting big man will only be a bonus but will definitely make the team stronger..

FYI: Amare owns a decent 3-point shot

yah those three guys are athletic..but if I'm not mistaken TD & KG can also block shots, especially 1on1...and they only don't block shots, they can also intimidate and force an opponent to change their shots or to a situation that would lead to an error...

Have u seen their game against Mexico, if Carmelo wasn't hitting his shots, ambot nalang...d kaau nila malamangan ug dako ang kontra...how much more if they'll play Argentina nga ingana ang ilang dinuwaan for that game? I would expect it will be a close game...then how much more if Pepe Sanchez, Manu, Oberto, Hermann & Nocioni will play in the Olympics....eng eng eng...saonz nalang jud lagi ani ron...mau lang lagi ug mangigo..ang nakapait ani is islow down pa jud sa kontra para d sila kaduwa sa ilang open game...samot kaluya ani....

it won't be a bonus bro... look at other team's big men? if they can't score inside, they will try to make a shot outside, ang uban nasobrahan gani kay 3pointer....for me a superior lineup should have balance...naay mangitsa sa gawas, maau modepensa sa ilawm - pakapin itsa pud sa mga dagko...lisod man gud ug malason ang guards...wa jud mahems cla howard, stoudemire ug chandler...I haven't even seen them make their own post move..cge lang dawat ug limpyo...oh well see later sa game against Argentina....

what impreses me the most is Carmelo's game, he plays in & out..then makakuha jud cya ug fouls sa bigmen sa kontra...but come Olympics wherein it's a gathering of teams from all over the world nga they'll be sending their "best" like Argentina, maglisod jud gamay....

The beauty of Team USA's game is that they also have versatile wingmen who can play the post if needed, maski Power Forward lang like Melo and even Lebron who stand not below 6-8..with either of them at the 4 spot and Amare in the middle its going to be a quick team, and a 5-man team that can all shoot beyond 25 feet and in

yah..sakto pud ka ani bro....impressive ang play ni LBJ ron especially his defensive aggresiveness...at least his improving pero kulang pa jud..if he can develop a skillset defensively like Kobe nga lockdown defense...saonz nalang...mohilak jud iya gibantayan....heeeh

OT: I'm just wondering...y wala giconsider c Raja Bell for the tryouts..even though he's from US Virgin Islands, did he play for the NT before? para nako noh mas maau pa cya gipadula kaysa kang Mike Miller....

si Mike Miller kay wala kaayo nagamit kay siguro ang plan was for him to backup Michael Redd but Redd was superb as of late too so no need for Mike to shine more

yah but im considering defensive capabilities of Raja Bell..he can also consistently hit the outside shot err 3pts right? lahi ra man gud ng second to nature nga naa kay depensa kaysa kanang niassume ka ug role defensively..makita jud nimo ang anticipation factor sa player....

basin dili pa US citizen si Raja Bell..or did he play for the US Virgin Islands before? kay if he did he cant play for another country na according to FIBA rules, just lke what happened to one Jordan player wala kaduwa sa FIBA Asia
