WHY dont we go to the urban slums, gather as many street children as we can then accompany them to the nearest catholic church.. then lets visit the church a week later and see if ila ba gyud gi adopt ang mga bata...

Also, if you watched the video I posted, the president sa Radio Veritas also hinted that the adoption would be done by catholic families who are very willing to adopt daw..... if that statement is true... then how come there are so many children in orphanages and so many still on the streets?

Why would the church want to spend for adopting the children itself? Ma wad-an sila ug kwarta.
You may say i'm pessimistic but I'm just being realistic knowing how the church operates in this country.
kadumdum ko sa elementary/highschool days. mangutana ang titser, kinsa may movolunteer manilhig sa gawas.
Pedro: *hands up* Maam si Juan Maam.
Juan: ayg pataka diha Pedro. Kung gusto ka volunteer, volunteer dihag imo, ayaw ko ivolunteer!

The way i see it is they are willing to adopt because the truth is the expenses for this kind of project will not come directly from the church but they will seek funding mostly from NGO international funding agencies like from Canada or the Netherlands. It's been a long practice of the church to seek funding outside the country. The truth is it is another way for them to gain money because they are not required to liquidate in details how they spent the money given by the funding agency abroad. This I know because I was given a chance to work with an NGO that is basically under the church.

^ I don't think many NGO's will commit to unsustainable practices. Generally these charities support initiatives which solve problems rather than deferring or even encouraging future trouble.

I don't hate the church but this idea is really upsetting. Desperate. It will create an annoying cycle. It will make people think that they can have a lot of babies then if they can't take care of them no worries because the church will, so the church in return will depend on the donations of the people, people who are kind-hearted will give a bigger amount knowing that the church has a lot of mouth to feed. They are indirectly passing the burden to their followers - those people who share part of their salaries. It's not about selfishness but the we're kind of setting aside the supposed discipline that everyone should practice. They are not correcting the mind set instead they are tolerating people. **Arrghh!**

    What's happening to the world??

It is open to money laundering in that case. No checks and balances. no audits basta dawat lang ug dawat firme.
