well, writers are people too...and they are protecting their credibility to what they are saying compared to those standbys who most often than not, rely on gossips and rumors. LOLs

I can't understand why the lady governor and her other relatives in gov't positions are being singled out in this thread. Is this some kind of character assassination na come 2010? I am not implying that i am defending the Garcias but let's just be fair and square here.

AFAIK, kung palabwanay lng sa pgka hawod, mas pinaka hawod gyud c Mayor Tomas Osmena sa tanan. Just look how he suppressed the dev't sa Ban-Tal by proposing a city ordinance to limit the investment there particularly the Ciudad project. One legal expert even said that is tantamount to a blatant violation of our Constitution. Just look how he set aside the formal bid of Capitol to invest in SRP while favoring only one investor that didn't even went thru a proper bidding. And when asked the issue, he vehemently implores his usual squid tactics. Just because he is enemy w/ the governor?

Asa may mas hawod? ang lady governor nga pa igat igat sa Sugbu kunohay as matod pa sa usa pud nga equally (or perhaps sobra pa nga ) igat nga S. Osmena, or ang mayor nga almost ni-resemble that of the villanous "The General" sa TV series nga Prisonbreak ug sa pgka karon kung ambot unsay nahitabo wa nay laing gibuhat kundi manamastamas nlng ug mga babaye ug even his own Vice Mayor?

Who do u think were investigated regarding the lamp post scandal? Surely it is not Guv Gwen...

and if we talk about political dynasties, why single out the Garcias? cla rba ang gahimo ani kng tinuod man gani? how about the powerful Duranos and the Martinezes in the north? how about the Ramas? how about the Osmenas? how about the Ouanos?

if we talk about alleged political advantage spelled supposedly by Sun.Star, well that newspaper company is not owned by the Pablo Garcia clan but by the Jesus Garcia Sr. clan. Besides, dugay naman na ang Sun.Star. The paper has been here even long before the time when Cory Aquino was President. Nya ingnon na karon na nigara?...Besides, newspaper columnists are always free to criticize, even thrown to the Guv. No doubt about that...Both clans may be relatives but they have different directions in their careers and business. besides, it is their hard work and perseverance that propelled them to what they are now today and not like some big shots like being former cronies of then late Ferdie Marcos, or those who just happen to have the advantage of carrying the surname of their late grand father.

AFAIK, if we talk about the numbers in the side of the Pablo Garcia clan currently holding public office, I can only know four: Gwen, Pablo Jr., Byron and Pablo Sr. (GSIS' Winston is not holding a public office)

Well sa mga Osmenas, naa c Tomas ug Serge. Pero atong tanawon pud sa history kinsa sa Osmena ang nka hold sa public office: John2x, Jing2x, Lito O, Sonny O, the late Serging, the late President Sergio. In fact, mas daghan paman gani cguro ang Osmena nga nka hold ug public office in the past up to the present.

AFAIK, sa side ni late Sonny Garcia Sr., Sonny Jr.'s wife, Mrs. Armi Garcia, has been doing well quietly and humbly as the Phil. Consul to Russia. Sonny Jr. (or some would fondly call him JBG) has been doing well now as a private citizen tending his law firm and the popular Sun.Star Daily.

To say that all the Garcias in Cebu are unjustifiably hawod, doesn't make any sense at all. There might be a few, but not all. But still, it is a matter of perception.

Let's remember that we are the ones ourselves who voted these people into public office. If in case they don't reach your expectations, better file a formal petition complaint w/ valid evidences, or better yet, vote another one u think is better next time, and not just spew gossips and rumors para lng mang daut sa isig usa ka igsoon nato nga Sugbuhanon.

perhaps there are some of us here being MISOGYNISTS, or simply clouded with ENVY and JEALOUSY, or influenced by AIR MERCENARIES swarming our media nowadays? or is it simply just they are fed up by the alleged scandals & controversies hounding the politicians concerned?...I just don't know...
