so for me, in dating..... Im a traditional sort of guy, so I'll pay the tab.

It's ok that the guy pay the tab in a date but there's a limit to that. That's only work if you have lots of money or saving. What if your allowance or salary is just enough for you. You said that men and women are not equal, what if the lady you date with has much salary that you do? It's much better that you pay equally or depende sa inyong sabot sa date..

everything in life has a limit...and situational

I'm refering to my present situation..... even if the lady is getting paid more than I do, if she won't tell me, "I insist", I'll still pay the tab.

There are times when your date wants to pay for her part... as shallow as you guys may think.. they dont want to fee obliged on their date just because they paid for her dinner... (i got these info from my female friends..).. they said, it is up for the guy to make her feel comfortable and not obliged while still having your dinner through your conversations and gestures..

Correct ka dyan..I have also a female friend and said nga uwaw kuno na sa ila part kung always ang laki ang mobayad. Dli sila gusto naay utang kabubut-on..

i think the default is for the guy to shoulder the bills unless explicitly stated by the girl...

Default yes.. the guy should offer to pay the BILLS first and expects to pay the bill... if your date declines your generousity.. then give way.. women hates pushy men.. hehehe
