------------
My original intention was just to breed crickets so that my pet Ts will have a constant supply of readily available prey items (occassional treats for my Hamies as well). However, as the population of crickets tend to explode when you breed them successfully, I might as well sell the excess to other exotic pet hobbyists who also need a ready supply of crix, and to those who would also like to start breeding their own crickets. It's also a good way to recoup some of the money spent on feeds, enclosures, etc.
The advantages of having readily- available cultured prey items:
- you are sure that the crickets you are giving your expensive Tarantulas, Scorpions, Arowanas, Reptiles, etc are clean, parasite/chemical-free, and more nutritious compared to wild-caught crix.
- you don't have to look stupid crouching around in your garden, compound or neighborhood peering beneath rocks, logs and pots; and chasing those quick little wild crickets.
