 Re: Good News....
Aside from the Amnesty Law,PGMA has also succeded when the Spain and our country has already signed an agreement allowing 100,000 Filipino health care professionals to work in Spain.
Its figure (100,000) is just an initial number of health workers they are planning to work there, but in five years time, it is saod that they would need up to 1million workers to boost its booming health-care industry.
Parang lahat yta ng mga pinupuntahan nyang bansa nagkakaron ng positive results. Its a great opportunity for our health workers who would benefit the agreement, having the chance to work abroad is such a BIG thing not only to their families but also for our country.

PGMA's trip to Italy and Spain proved to be a success as she brought us with some $380 million projects on various sectors. These include oil and gas, hotel and resort, and infrastructure development.
All of these proved one point: a strengthened confidence on our present economy and the existing potentials of the Philippines with respect to our foreign counterparts.

Cases of infectious diseases down 51.4%
The Department of Health (DOH) said the number of infectious diseases in the country went down by 51.4 percent from January to June this year, compared to the same period a year ago.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque said records of the agency’s National Epidemiology Center (NEC) show that only 6,461 cases of infection diseases were recorded during the six-month period. Last year, the NEC recorded 13,299 cases.
"Under the Formula 1 Framework of the DOH, we are currently working to obtain investments to further lower the number of infectious cases and finally achieve disease-free zones," Duque said.
Infectious diseases include measles, meningococcemia, malaria, dengue, hepatitis B, and typhoid fever.
NEC records show a total of 41 meningococcemia cases during the first half, or 88.4 percent lower than the 353 cases the previous year.
Measles cases totaled 16, or 85.5 percent lower than the 110 cases last year. Malaria cases, meanwhile, reached 334 compared to 1,165 in 2005.
Dengue cases, meanwhile, were down from 10,282 to 4,992; hepatitis B, from 221 to 118; and typhoid fever, from 212 to 121.
"We need to be more vigilant against these diseases because a healthy population is the foundation of President Arroyo’s vision of a strong republic," Duque said.
