CENTER for Environmental Awareness and Education (CEAE) and the Ford Conservation and Environmental Grants are now accepting entries to the second Moonrise Documentary Film Festival set Aug. 18 to 20.
The festival hopes to showcase documentaries on environmental and socio-cultural issues, according to Jukka Holopainen, CEAE president.
“Aside from professional filmmakers we are also inviting first-time directors, teachers and students to submit entries,” said Holopainen. “The docus can tackle any subject—from garbage to historical sites. We are looking for entries that are both educational and entertaining.”
Winning films will have the chance to be shown in different festivals here and abroad.
Last year’s Moonrise gathered over 1,600 teachers, students, religious, government and NGO officials at the Gateway Mall.
Deadline for early submission is May 31 and, for late submission, June 30. Visit www.moonrisefilmfest.com, call 721-7360 or e-mail email@ceae.org.
