no, please. a majority would rebel if martial law is declared. the Filipinos have learned their lesson during Marcos' time. i don't think they will want it to happen again. ask any Filipino who went through and lived through the martial law days, they can tell you they will not allow it to happen again...at least not in my lifetime.

I never knew that just by using common sense, you can come up with a conclusion that she cheated in the elections. If this is the case, then let's do away with the whole justice system.

Again. . . economic reforms are on track. During Erap's time, these reforms were halted by the same people who were in power. Why? To escape taxes, etc. Again, please research so you will know. If someone takes over, someone from Estrada's camp, do you think these reforms will be on track?

Again. . . please do your research. Estrada was ousted in a huge part because of our poor economy during his time and the rampant smuggling going on.

It is very easy to say Gloria should resign just because that is our "feel". But, it is incumbent upon us to examine and seek the truth and decide upon a moral stance which is going to be better for all Filipinos.

Please don't argue for the sake of arguing. If you are going to show empirically (even if you use history) that we are going to be better off with a new president, then prove it by using valid arguments. . . common sense alone is never good enough.

In Latin America, particularly Argentina, there is a political experience called "auto-gulpe" or self-coup in literal English translation.

Alberto Fujimori, Argentina's more successful president prior to his recent controversy, staged an "auto-gulpe", of course with the backing of the military, to bring back the country to the national agenda of recovery and development.

"Auto-gulpe" is almost like martial law except that it had quite a ramification in Latin American governance.

yes, martial law has its advantages. but if GMA declares it now, she'd be feeding the anger of the people. it will look like it's just a means to "hide all that dirt under the rug" scheme. it is not a "solution" to an otherwise complex problem.

GMA's next agenda should be Winning the Hearts and Minds of the Filipinos, not touch a most sore part.

Now please read the transcript... and tell me, using your common sense what are they talking about.

1] Okay, let's put it this way. If both of them indeed did it. Erap was caught with his still inside the cookie jar and GMA already got away with the cookie.

2] The economic crisis is worldwide due to the oil crisis among others. Our "personal" crisis in our country is caused by Erap on top of the worldwide crisis. During his time kidnapping, drugs, gambling was more lenient, extortion in the BIR, corruption in Customs and various mediocre if not ghost government projects. All of this I know first hand. We had lesser investors during his time and we have a very slow growth rate. This is all supported by facts and numbers.

3] With Noli being VP i have no probelm with that but with him being President? I personally believe he doesn't have what it takes.

I cannot comment on the tape because AFAIK and basing on the transcript it is really inconclusive. Meaning we can believe what we want to believe depending on our inclination. There is really no cut throat fact.
