back when i was a kid, i was impressed by the whole changing in a phonebooth scene...but really, back then, my number 1 question would be "how can people not recognize clark as superman?"

but yea, the whole smallville mainstream is quite a good thing if you ask me(esp. lana lang-kristen kreuk..huba huba!!) ...the concept of making it is great. pro was lex luther clark's teenage bestfriend ba jud in the original story??

there was an explanation in john bryne's man of steel, post crisis superman. but I'm too lazy to dig it up.. hheheee I do have the TPB.. might bring it this PM, if i can find it that is... he does this ultra fast head shaking ...so you can't photograph supes. Santini can explain further. he's more knowledgable on this.

Yeah you're right, it is really out of character for Batman to carry a gun, but since you want proof then so be it. and Batman 1st appeared in Detective Comic# 27 and NOT in the cover you're showing.

    see the sidearm?

brutal tactics proving his "anti-hero" methods.

Its even acknowledged in "post crisis" continuity that Batman carried a gun in his early years.

    from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman

"Batman keeps most of his field equipment in a signature piece of apparel, a yellow utility belt. Over the years it has contained a virtually limitless variety of crimefighting tools. Different versions of the belt have these items stored in either pouches or hard cylinders attached evenly around it.
In some of his early appearances, Batman used sidearms (see especially Detective Comics #32, September 1939), but since that time, he has eschewed their use because his parents were murdered by a gunman. Some stories have relaxed this rule to allow Batman to arm his vehicles for purposes of disabling other vehicles or removing inanimate obstacles. In the 1989 movie version, however, firearms figured more prominently in the Dark Knight's arsenal; machine guns and grenades were mounted on the Batmobile and missiles and machine cannons on the Batwing. Burton's Batman was not afraid to cause collateral damage and was willing to kill."

    from: http://www.comics101.com/archives/comics101/40.php

The early Batman appearances are entertaining if slightly out of character as seen through today’s eyes. In several stories written by Gardner Fox, the Batman is even more vicious than in his first appearance, carrying a sidearm and using a machine gun to gun down innocent people who’ve been turned into zombie creatures, with little more than a “the poor devils are better off this way” as justification for the killings.

Hope that enlightens you. heeheee you got pwned.
