I have my own personal experience based on my Ultimate Vista64 testing on my sluggish system.
Slows down your system, and when you uninstall, won't uninstall cleanly, to the point you may have to reformat your drive. Better to install the Zune theme nalang.

With proper hardware (which I have), Vista only. never again XP.
All my games, apps, programming tools work just fine.
It starts my programs much faster, use properly the memory (what XP never did) and is a little bit more secure.
until i have the budget to buy vista.. i will still be using xP.. im lovvin it.. end of discussion.
