    May have been overfed, possibly with spoiled meat . The cold weather would have slowed metabolism and the food would have simply rotted in the croc's stomach. This tends not to happen in the wild because a cold croc will not hunt as much when temps are low.

    I'm kind of fed up of zoo specimens dying from neglect etc. I know of a place in Cebu which (years ago) kept snakes as an attraction. They all died because nobody thought to give them water.
