poor animal...but then its reality....mas healthy unta ni xa sa wild..he would be forced to move around to hunt for food, maka exercise xa...captivity killed it, for sure. but what is the alternative... the crocodile shared its "natural habitat" with humans...and what about food...this is not africa na daghan antelope, deer, wild beasts na mkaon ang buwaya....crocodile that big will not be satisfied eating small fish...mangeta jud ni xa ug large prey...most likely would be farm animals and humans.

I can only think of one place that is perfect for Lolong: Congress and Senate.. Daghan siya makaon didto which is very healthy for the Philippines as well.. bahala kapwa buaya iyang kaonon basta buhi lang siya..

May have been overfed, possibly with spoiled meat . The cold weather would have slowed metabolism and the food would have simply rotted in the croc's stomach. This tends not to happen in the wild because a cold croc will not hunt as much when temps are low.

I'm kind of fed up of zoo specimens dying from neglect etc. I know of a place in Cebu which (years ago) kept snakes as an attraction. They all died because nobody thought to give them water.
