The issue is...... ang kontra sa akung manghud, nanawag dayun ug laing kauban nya diretso ra ug laban wa gani nangutana kung unsay nahitabu!!!

as it has been said so many times. take this scenario & be realistic, if your younger brother is being mauled even it was his fault would you still ask who was at fault or will you defend your brother right there and then? the bad thing though is the use of knives & guns, i personally abhor that. i same with fraternities or even barkadas. it's as simple as that, it is not a matter of who's right or wrong. it is the call of the moment & that's being realistic.

'ey people let's broaden our minds. do you even know what hazing means? hazing is administering physical, mental & emotional tests to be accepted in a group, not only fraternities. it can happen in a club, military, government, the corporate world, barkada, school, religion, the family etc. we were even hazed when i joined a soccer team in high school & a business club during college days for chrissakes!

being a neophyte is not only exlusive to someone who subjects himself to hazing. you can be hazed involuntarily or by circumstance. the bad thing about fraternities & military school is it's more physical than any other aspect & is more likely to get out of hand.

in some religions, why does young boys & girls need to be circumcised to be accepted? that is a form of hazing because that is against one's will but some do subject themselves voluntarily & circumcision by the way is not really "medically" necessary, that's a fact. don't close your minds to the word hazing that you have came to know.

hazing is just like sexual harrasment, you don't have to literally "sexually harass" a person to be sanctioned with it. the parameter is broad. that is why our government has a hard time making the Anti-Hazing Law. It has a lot of loop holes. this is where most of us get confused, the grey matter in between.

it cannot be technically branded as stupidity if you just really think about it. it's a rite of passage & it's your choice. if you are caught in a situation that it is no longer your choice, then get out. this is psychology 101, plain & simple.

the analogy here is simple, if we don't like to be hazed by fraternities then don't join one. now condemning them, is a different story. that is their choice. now, think about it why are you condemning fraternities?

let me tell you a story, there is this guy who walks tall & dignified, then people at the sides brand him as hambugero. is this analogy correct? i tell you it's, HELL WRONG! there is no such thing as a "hambugero walk". could it be that the people at the sides were perhaps intimidated? felt inferior? or just jealous that the guy has confidence which they don't have?

It's very common that we fear what we don't understand or what we can't take. I hope I shed light on this matter & feel free to comment.

but why physically? liman kag bunalan kang kapila... ang imo gani mama magpanagana og bunal nimo... then this called brotherhood would punch you, kick you and will almost kill you, just to be worthy to be called brothers, I can't get the point, where's brotherhood in that?

why just test your neophytes through mental and psychological... para mahibaw-an kinsay tarong og pangutok... para ang ma member kana ra pareho ninyo. d ba it will be an honor pa sa inyo fraternity nga mga tarong ang membro... kong naa man gani gamay ra. dili pareho karon nga ang active members kasagaran walay klaro. You know why i said this? kay dinhi sa amo barangay ang kasagaran mag cause og gubot kay mga member sa Frat... when we (nga dugay na nagpuyo dinhi) wala gani nagkagubot sila ra hinoon nga ga board ra dinhi.

I exactly see your point but I am not agreeable in removing the physical test because the physical part is included in the totality of being a person.

The problem with frat members are like the people in the government & military, because they are already "torture-tested" so to speak, they tend to have this feeling of superiority, influence & power over other people. This is what I always try to say to my brods, "To be a Leader, you must be the Servant of all." This where some of my brods, our government & military is misguided.

In response to your problem & with the recent dialogue, we will be having a local & international registration which will be stored in a database. To filter inactive & non-deserving brods. We expect a very few who will undergo the registration, the rest will be expelled. Which for me is a good thing. For me an active brod in development is a whole lot better than a brod who starts trouble & is barumbado. Our most treasured & distinguished brods are not the killers, though sometimes these tough guys are also important in times that our fraternity is unjustly criticized or bothered.

I hope nga pareho nimo tanan member (Hinoon dili man sab jud na pwede). Pero naa man gud mga membro nga bisan tan-awon lang... mangulata dayon.

about the physical test (paddle) dili d i pwede exercise lang? kana wala bruises nga ma abot? kay ang uban gud tawn ginikanan ana mga bata-a... dili gani pa tugdonan og langaw.

I hope nga matudlo-an ninyo og lesson inyo ka brod. Ako nahibaw-an kong naay sala ang member (bunal is one of the punishment) why not just let them do activities... like pasilhigon perhaps. D ba mas mak ayo pa na sa ato community.

And also I hope nga inyo doctrines inyo na mapasabot sa inyo member... kay naa ko nakapangotana nga member sa Frat kong onsa gamit sa ila Frat... kahibaw ka onsay tubag? Nangita na hinoon og away.

ummm... i just want to understand... any member of any of the two fraternities might be so kind as to inform us why you guys have a feud....
it would make us understand... (your business is yours, not ours)... if that isn't too much to ask, that is...

I decline to say it here because it will result to word war, tongue-lashing or trash talk coz if I have to say the truth it will eventually undermine the other group & they will get hurt & react. it will just open old wounds.

try to get a truthful answer from them instead if they will really be honest & objective about it.

i say ALL members from both warfreak groups be gathered in a stadium and be given the whole day to wipe each other out. even by noon, we can expect that the whole gang populace is "minimized" to a one digit number.

i am convinced they are NOT fraternities, they just carry a fraternity-like name for themselves. there are more appropriate terms we can better refer them and surely, being a fraternity is not one of it.

my post is for those who are not members of any of the two groups. i think individuals who join such affairs overlooked so much in themselves and have no regard for other people. there is no sense telling them how wrong they are, most if not all surely does not have the capacity of understanding the simple difference of right from wrong.
