allotted money for feasibility study of the project alone is around 100 MILLION..

Your politician love this kind of projects. Why? They can get a share of the alloted money easily that doesnt require accounting and when all said and done, there is no standing bridge. After all it is just a study.

You should investigate the politician who approved this study.

Well the 100million pesos is just nothing compared to the P10 BILLION pesos that will be spent for the "improvement" of the SLEX in Manila... not to mention also the very very very expensive Macapagal Highway in Pasay City, the useless redundant airports in Subic and Clark, the overpriced "rehabilitation" of the North Railroad in Luzon, the white elephant NAIA III..... and a lot lot more..........

The bridges will be constructed to boost the development of the Visayan economy..

bro, i think it is but not proper to compare its cost since what i have stated before is associated with something that has not been materialized.. it’s a sunk cost that will not be recovered regardless of the outcome of the study.. and if i'm not mistaken, basic rule of comparison is that it should have the same denominator..

moreover, we should not use make your cited impractical projects (your impression i believe) as means to justify another impractical one.. i agree with you that this could really help boost up our economy by providing linkages to various islands, but then again we have other "important and urgent" matters to first take into consideration.. i don't really see that project as a necessity as of the moment..

Bridges will soon connect Bohol to Cebu and Cebu to Negros..... If the Iloi-ilo governor would cooperate, a bridge will also link Ilo-ilo and Negros via Guimaras! Now the Visayas is connected to each other!

The type of bridge that might connect Bohol to Cebu would be a causeway-tunnel type similar to the one the slices up Tokyo Bay in Japan, or the one also connecting Sweden and Finland...... The type of bridge that will connect Cebu and Negros will definitely be a Suspension type since Tanon straight is not that wide enough at the South....
