Noli de Castro is also the current secretary for housing and urban development. He is the first independent Senatorial topnotcher and the first elected independent Vice-President.

In 2001, De Castro successfully ran for senator as an independent candidate, though he campaigned with the opposition. He garnered more than 16 million votes, the highest ever for a senator in the history of Philippine politics at that time.

As a senator, De Castro authored Senate Bill No. 2029 or the "Local Government Transparency Act" which aimed to end corruption through transparency measures in the local government units.

Performance rating

On January 7, 2008, the Social Weather Stations (November 30 to December 3, 2007) survey revealed all-time high satisfaction grades for Vice-President Noli de Castro: 64% satisfied and 23% dissatisfied - de Castro's performance, or satisfaction rating of net +41.

A commissioned December 15 to 30, 2007 survey of presidentially showed Loren Legarda leading, followed by Noli De Castro, Sen. Francis Escudero, Sen. Panfilo Lacson as 4th most favored, followed by Senate President Manuel Villar, Jr., Mar Roxas, Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, Metro Manila Development Authority chair Bayani Fernando, Sen. Richard Gordon, and Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte, Jr.

u posted the thread about Noli de castro so im just giving some facts about him. that's how a thread is supposed to start man gani unta. facts first, then opinion for all dayon...

btw, i think your title and thread entry are somewhat inappropriate per forum rules, but anyway, let the mods decide on that. this is just a suggestion coz u can modify ur thread title and entry anytime...and i hope u already read the forum rules on posting.

i suggest better titles like: "VP Noli de Castro: what do u think?", or "What do u think of Noli de Castro come 2010?"...i wont suggest another ZTE issue here coz redundant or "double-post" na na. otherwise, this thread will surely be merged together w/ other topics on ZTE...or worse, u face the wrath of our mods...hehe
