dont be fooled guys... these are politicians.

mig will surely emerge victorious on this act. re positioning himself for the next election, with his so called righteous act that he did still imprinted on the minds
on the filipino voters. he's sacrifice will not go down the drain.

Even if He's guilty or not... The act of resignation still a courageous act and Honor...

Dili pasabut na ulahi naka naka decide na di naka tagaan chance...better late than never...

Dili mo ginoo para mag judge ug usa ka tao...

di na na angay lalisun if guilty ba siya or not..
basta its clear na maayu iyaha gibuhat in the end...

    PERIOD!

First of all, he cannot say he did not know that there was cheating in Maguindanao. Believe me, even before Lintang Bedol and Zaldy Ampatuan broke the news to the media recently I've already heard of the cheating in Maguindanao because I was classmates with one of the Ampatuan kids back in 2009 (and ironically, our prof then was the very rival of Zubiri, Koko!).

Even if he "did not want anyone to cheat for him", the fact remains that he has been occupying that Senate seat since 2007, and only now decided to give it up. Noble you say, but why just now, when key figures in the fraud are now willing to testify? It looks more like he wants to beat SET to the punch and would rather resign than be booted out after it's proven that he did in fact benefit from the election fraud and knew of it at that time. He did not hog the seat, but he's leaving only one year and change on the term for Koko. And no he did not directly acknowledge in his speech that he did in fact (at the very least) benefit from the cheating. More like collateral acknowledgement.

For sure, if and when he runs again he will win. He already had the chance to build up his resume during his Senate stint, and he did in fact do a good job. The only problem I have is that while he did resign, nagpa-humot ra gyud gihapon siya. He did not come clean and instead imputed the decision to his family, etc. Easy escape ra ba.
bro, remember he ran under the administration of GMA. And being under that administration probably secured him a slot in the senate. What he believed based from his knowledge (and within what he ONLY knows) is that he did not initiate the cheating for his own benefit. That's the debate bitaw ron, did he take part of it or not? What's killing him is the fact that the entire nation doubts him because he was part of the administration.

What he did was out of DELEKADESA and not to beat any government agency from booting him out. He withdrew all his protest against Pimentel and acknowledged that cheating did happen, what he wants now is to get out of that picture and clear his name that he WASNT part of it.

And about him being in the senate, Zubiri did a lot of things during his stay. Heck he even did more things than other senators there. Therefore he wasn't a waste, cut the guy some slack!! he made a major HISTORY in the books of the Philippine government. And Im sure no one else in the senate has enough balls to do that.

And let me repost this: Sen. Miguel Zubiri quits!!! I applaud him for his reasons, let this be a domino effect for our leaders to practice the right values and lead as a GOOD example for its people.

What's for Juan is for Juan.

Like I said, I understand where you're coming from. I'm not saying Zubiri was a bad person or anything, all I'm saying is that it isn't ENTIRELY correct to laud his resignation considering all the surrounding facts. Had he done this way back 2008 or 2009 I would've said na gentleman gyud siya. But quitting because the furnace got too hot begs the question "why only now"? Di na delicadeza bro oi. More like saving face.

Anyway, let's not argue. I'm just saying.

bro you are not getting me, i told you he was made to assume that he won by fair game. Not knowing that there is a bigger person who made a decision to make him win.

For short bro, na BLINDED bah...sayon sabton no?

@Jumperman, you dont need to private message me on this issue if there's nothing to hide. As what you pointed out of Miguel Zubiris picture. It can mean anything!!!

Lets be situational here. If I had a picture taken with the Ampatuans inside their mansion, would that make me a suspect in participating in the manipulation of votes last election?

    or......

If Pacquiao had a candid shot having dinner with the Ampatuans mansion. Would that create doubts to the many many filipinos?

A picture is a picture, it can mean a lot of things...It can say the truth, but if meant to appear something with malice then that makes it questionable.
