being free is a luxury, but we still have responsibility to our country... having a pride for our country is one, and everything follows..

just stating facts bisag imo pa e compare ang mama sa ato president karon, or kinsa na president ang ni sunod wala jud concrete plan for the filipino, ganahan ka ingana lang ta pirmi?.... ilaron sa mga corrupt politicians?.. and incapable politicians?....

if our nuclear plant was successfully operated, we will be the first in asia to have a nuclear power plant and electricity would be very cheap... tsk tsk tsk due to american intervention it was not successfully operated.

AFAIK, it was cory who order not to use BNP, there was an act banning the use of any Nuclear material (except for medical puposes) in side the Philippine Territory

before taiwanese and chinese and other neighboring countries come to work in the philippines, "how cool is that" coz philippines is like the country of hope for them, but now we are exporting our filipinos to other country to work, we are getting out of our country because economy is falling down deeper and deeper into the hole.

if memory serves me right there was a survey posted on yahoo couple weeks ago, that India has higher rate of people leaving their country in search of greener pasteur, also chinese are migrating into west in huge number, this country is not really poor and they have good economy! looking for foreign jobs is not a sign of bad economy!!

we have good theater, museums, and history and most of all filipino's then where discipline.

our universities is flooded with foreign student wants to have a agriculture degree because we are the best in the continent, now we are surpassed by thailand and malaysia.

we are the major exporter of rice and other agri stuff, now we are the greatest importers of our own products...

you must be talking about UP-Diliman and Philippine Rice Research Institute (PRRI), and even now we are still leading in rice research and development, R&D and producing are two different animals, dont get confused!, yes we imported rice because rice production are done by big corporation!, we have problems in rice production.... our farmers dont have facilities that could speed the production...

we are still major exporter of agricultural products, except for rice!!

Marcos didnt pass a bill removing the US bases, the bill was passed after 1987 constituion.. estrada is one of those Senator who voted it out!!

philippines is not in a bad economy are you sure about that sir?... and why cant we afford things the way we used to?.... or you just cant accept the fact that our economy slowly loosing its grip... why is our middle class pinoys is in boarder line of being poor?... hope your not to close minded to realize this... coz if some of my facts you think is misleading ask majority of pinoy if they feel like our economy is strong...

and yes we have the best R&D in rice but being the best dont you think we should also be the number 1 rice producing country?... and do you think that our country still have the monetary funds to improve what we learn long long time ago?.... which i doubt, coz the current government dont have the balls to invest on science and technology anymore... and is it a bad sign loosing something that you are good at?... and because the AGRARIAN REFORM was bypass by the huge self centered politicians and allow it to be sold to condominiums owners and etc.

regarding nuclear power plant... so its under cory so what, if the plan goes well dont you think filipino will be better off if we have a technology that no other asian country has before?.... what i mean by before is when japan taiwan china or other asian country still look up to us... we can have a cheap power supplies. and it can help a lot. why do powerful countries have this?.... ITS BECAUSE they know that NUCLEAR POWER is beneficial.... and its less pollutant...

Noynoy’s bluster is becoming too abrasive and unbearable that it is being mistaken as a character similar to that of former strongman Ferdinand Marcos.

While Marcos strikes fear whenever he issues a threat, because more than likely, he would have followed it up with immediate and determined action, as proved too many times.

Not so with Noynoy who has proven thus far that all he says including “them fighting words” as all “hot air” as an eminent former senator had said.

Although there is no doubting that Noynoy is trying hard to portray himself as a strong leader, in a bid to erase his already cemented personality as a weak, know-nothing leader.

Sen. Aquilino Pimentel rightly described the threat of Noynoy to run after pro-life groups who will push through with plans on civil disobedience and slap them sedition charges as purely hot air since he said the Reproductive Health (RH) bill has yet to pass Congress.

The pro-life groups said the civil disobedience campaign that would include a tax boycott would start the moment the RH bill is passed into law.

The sedition threat reminded one bishop of the same response from former President Ferdinand Marcos when Noynoy’s mother, former President Cory Aquino, called for civil disobedience over what she claimed was massive fraud during the snap elections where Aquino was pitted with the 20-year president.

One wonders whether Noynoy, in miserably aping a Marcosian threat, would realize that threats such as charging with sedition those who do not toe his line, in this case, the anti-RH bill who threaten a tax boycott, would even brink chills down their spine, since not even Marcos’ decrees could stop those who go against presidential threats.

It is even more true in the case of Noynoy issuing that threat.

But the trouble with the bishop’s assessment is that it does not exactly hold true with Noynoy since thus far all of Noynoy’s big words remain just that, mere bluffs.

Consider his pledge to put all big grafters behind bars, including Gloria whom he accused of having plundered the public treasury. Nearly a year into his administration, none who can be classified as a big-league grafter is even charged.

Recently charges have been filed against former Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Romulo Neri but Neri being lined up as a major leaguer in corruption would be a huge disappointment.

Also recall his “Kayo ang boss ko” line in which he said the people are his boss and that he is at their beck and call.

The fall in the survey ratings of Noynoy lately has been attributed to his insensitivity in his purchase of a luxury sports car amid the worsening economic condition of the majority of Filipinos.

Rising fuel and food prices and fare increases were also partly blamed on the refusal of Noynoy to intervene in at least putting a brake on the increases.

Also his slack is legendary and is being blamed mostly for his failure to translate words into action.

Comparing Noynoy with Marcos is indeed ironic not because his parents consider Marcos as their political nemesis but because Marcos, despite all the criticisms hurled against him, cannot be accused of being all talk and no action.

He was even branded a dictator because he demanded quick action on problems, including those concerning issues that sadly conflicted with the interest of many.

Noynoy as a dictator would be far-fetched because thus far he had not translated any of his promises into concrete action.

All his statements achieved thus far are to annoy his critics.

It would require of Noynoy a stronger character to even merit being accused of being a dictator.

It may even be an insult for deceased Marcos to be compared to Noynoy.

you are reading outside the line, i said on my previous vietnam and thailand rice production is done by big corporation, in philippines there are only few big corporations doing it and the majority is still done buy small farmers, try living in mindanao and you'll see what i mean (i lived in agusan for half decade and we plant rice for local consumer)

AGRARIAN REFORM is really a big issue and sometimes abused by both sides (we have personal experience on this, the reason why we left agusan)

we have an ACT prohibiting any nuclear material (except for medical purposes) within our territory (RA 6969 or Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act of 1990), im not against the use of nuclear energy, but we have a law on that, we should follow that law!!, stop claiming to be a good filipino if you cant even follow a law!
