No. What's more important is that your clothes serve a proper purpose like covering you, protecting you, keep you warm etc.

Unfortunately the fashion industry has got us by our Peter Pan collars and we're trying to fit into the ideals for fear that others will disapprove of our styles. However, there are those who think they have their own style, a so-called expression lets say, because they want to get some sort of reaction but little do they know they're still conforming.

And for crying out loud, there are young girls here compromising their health for high heels or because they still want to wear shorts in the winter! In these cases it's obviously for aesthetics.

What fashion is really doing is just dividing us into "classes". I think we're all guilty of following (or not following) it.
