Definitely. watching FLCL screws up your head more than taking drugs. I watched the whole thing again a few weeks ago and I was like "wwwooooowwww mmaaaannnnn.... wohohohooooaaa.... aaayooooossss..."

watched Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei last night... episodes 11&12 still rocked. I realized it's not the humor that drew me to the series, but rather, the unique art direction.

they're quite fond of using manga-style sketches.. and it's so hard to keep up with these types of scenes (there are 2, one in the first ep., and the other in the last ep.) because the pacing is soooooo fast:

hehehe... enjoy!! FLCL is a one of a kind anime.. probably the weirdest I've ever seen.. the style, the story, etc..

i heard that they had a HARD time animating the manga sequence. i also heard that the people behind the Avatar franchise watched this show before animating Avatar. they wanted to capture the overall feel of Fooly Cooly and emulate it in their work. Fluid Japanese animation and storytelling combined with western marketing equals success for those people.

^^ Lain is weird, and I hated it a couple of years ago. I rewatched the series around 2 years ago and started loving it, then spent hours and hours deciphering it, as well debated with friends as to how the series should be interpreted.

A similar series from the creator of Lain, Texhnolyze, is IMO better than Lain. It's also as weird and as mind-bending. The first episode is so freakingly silent, there are only around 10 lines of dialogue. While Lain was short, Texhnolyze can be agonizingly long and definitely not for everyone.

ROFL!!! That mecha from the head scene was rofl weird. I paused the episode, stared at my monitor for a few secs and continued watching the rest of the ep.. it was weird. it was beyond comprehension xD
i really didn't watch Ghost in the Shell. Some scenes and episodes lng. But it wasn't weird, i think. Serious lng..
i have yet to watch serial experiments lain. Sounds interesting.. hmm.

tapos ang season 2 kai "Individual 11"... hmmm.. each movies 2 1/2 hr. xD

ug ka2 sequel movie sa season2.. na wala pako kta. hehehe xD
