But Iligan is really nice. Naa man bombings sa Iligan sa una, naa gani ko officemate nga magguroy iyang left leg kay nabuthan. I think it's just hard to guarantee safety in places like Mindanao. I know guys it's unfair. Paniguro lang siguro na sa atong government.

I still say mas wala gyud tatsa ang Cebu. Neutral kaayo ning Cebu. Ambot sad kaha ngano. Pero molihok gani ni aggression like Abu Sayyaffs... di man kaayo nila hilabtan ang Cebu.

I'm from iligan too..lumad gyud ko dha..hapit nalangko mag 26yrs...and still i observed there's always peace and harmony in that place.labi na sa amo a .hehehe taga PALA-O d i ko...dapit sa City Hall amo a...naa ko dri cbu kay dri man ko nag work. wa naman koy ka applayan did2..fullybook naman .. anyways...Daghan gyud ta og paradise oi we have a lot of falls 13 kabuok d nalang nako e mention...naa pa gyud tay pools...like timoga...kana sang luyo sa Mount Agad Agad ka ato namo dha..nindot sad ang place(tanomanan og mga bulak )...kana sad amphi theater sa City hall..di ka kta sa uban nga lugar....

you know nganong bati ang trend sa iligan kay some people speak bad to iligan nag tuo cla nga maayo ilang istorya...like saying something " ang iligan bai adto ka didto mga tawo didto naa tagsa tagsa pusil...so ang makadungog mahadlok, unya ang nag istorya proud sad kaau ..kay mahadlok na sad iyang ka istorya, naa sad mo istorya nga nindot sad....di lang na sya..

Sa una iligan is one of the most industrial city in the philippines we back 1990s katong nag open pa ang NSC..kay maka generate man tag income greater than whole manila...asa manang kong ana...also naka award sad cya as the most cleanest city in the philippines under mayor Yañes.gitawag gud tag cleanest and greenest city ..hehe...

Yeah, Iligan does get a lot of bad publicity. Most of the time exaggerated. Iligan is the City of Waterfalls alright. There are around 13+ waterfalls there but I've been to only 7 of them. The more famous ones are Tinago, Maria Cristina, Dalipuga and Mimbalot.
Â* Â* Â*If you have a dirtbike, I would suggest the Dalipuga area waterfalls since we created a bike trail there wayback 1994 and you can just jump into the water right away. No entrance fees. No one to rip you off. Be careful of snakes though coz there'sÂ* quite a number of them.
Â* Â* Â*Anyone here been to Lapayan? It is 40 minutes away from Iligan and they have a nice beach there and lots of trails for biking. Motorbikes and mountain bikes alike.
Â* Â* Â*Mountain climbing? No problemo, there is Mt. Agad-agad which is fair enough for those quick, one-night climbs.
Â* Â* Â*Of course there is always Timoga Springs which is really nice and cold. At 35 pesos per head with a free cup of Coke, it is simply refreshing!
Â* Â* Â*Economy-wise, NSC is no more but Global Steel is operating well at this time. If you are a Metallurgical Engineer then you definitely have a place there.
Â* Â* Â*Security-wise, Iligan is safe. You dont have to worry about your multicab's spare tire being stolen just a few minutes after you park. No buawayas who would ask for 5 pesos just for helping you back out of the parking lot. No daylight jeepney hold-ups. It is not the safest place but it is definitely just as safe as any other city in the Philippines.
Â* Â* Â*The pace of living in Iligan is nice and slow. Not that crowded and hectic.
Â* Â* Â*The cons of Iligan is that there are not big shopping malls. If you cant live without SM and Ayala then Iligan is definitely not the place for you. Iligan only has Gaisano and Trendline which does not amount to much.Â* So once again, mallwalkers and mallmaniacs would not survive Iligan.
