hello vios club!

i own a vios as well. i got a black one. you know what i notice is that the paint of the black vios isnt as shiny as the honda black paint. what should i do to make it shiny? i've had it buffered by toyota already. paint protected.. but it's still not as shiny as the honda black paint. i see a few black vios cars driving around that are super shiny and glossy. did they do something about their paint to make it look that way?

and oh another thing, are you experiencing lose fan belts? mine gets squeeky when i start it in the morning. i think it has something to do with me driving without warming up my car, though i dont do it alot but i do that sometimes. does that cause the belt to loosen?

i also notice hearing a sound like knuckles crackling when i go up my driveway. but i dont think it's the suspensions coz if it was, it wouldn't be intermitent. maybe the barrel bolts? what are your thoughts?

re: your observation on your paint, I suggest you acquire the services of a good detailer. You can try jonathan of crazy carwash inside the Macro compound. I've seen his work... tell him the vios group sent you his way... or you can contact chuck from istorya. see the audio boards and look for ccccc11. he has intimate knowledge about detailing...

re: your fan belt, I don't think it has anything to do with lack of warming up and have everything to do with condensation building up overnight and covering the metal parts where your belt is. The belt should have enough tension though to prevent this. I suggest you have it retightened at your nearest mechanic.

re: the squeeky sound... hmmm. that's a tough one. if its intermittent, it's anyones guess.

I suggest that you register at Vios Club Philippines - Home and look at their maintenane pages.. there's a wealth of information there....

BTW, our next EB is July 13, let's meet up.....

Regarding the paint, my thoughts were it was coz of the stock paint toyota used. So, I had them do a full body repaint on my car very recently. Like 2 months ago. Although the new paint was better than the older version coz the latter looked so matted, it's still not as shiny. i'm almost about to give up on it hehe :o

i have a quick tip on the squeaky thing sa fan belt..... when u start the car and it squeaks... try reving up the gas.... after that its gone....

Will you be available this saturday for our mini EB? where did you have your car repainted? what type of paint did they use?


about the squeeky sound, have your engine and aircon belts checked, maybe it needs tightening. I experienced that with my aircon belt, everytime I turn on my aircon with a cold engine, I hear squeeky sound until I have it checked and tightened.
