More stable, uses less system resources. More user friendly to me at least as Linux installations don't need a lot of maintenance unlike Windows. Sure, it takes time to get used to it, but Linux has always been more stable than Windows. With installs like OpenSuse and Kubuntu, the gap in user friendliness has closed.
