I get what you mean. Urbandub's music isn't really that easy to digest-- except maybe for songs such as "Gone" or "Soul Searching"- which obviously leans toward the hard rock category.
But I believe there are two kinds of bands with "hard to digest" music.
1) Bands with bad songs. Bad lyrics, bad compositions. The more you listen, the more you dislike. An example is Coal Chamber's 2nd album "Chamber Music"- that album really sucked. It was a mess- composition and lyric-wise. Although their first album showed the band's talent in composing really neat beats and riffs, I still think their vocalist is the worst lyricist ever. hehe. They went downhill from there.
2) Talented but diverse bands. This type often fails to capture your "taste" at the first listen. But actually, the more you'll listen, you'll eventually digest and like the music. Either you'll discover great lyrics, or instrumental prowess of the members... whichever.
At least to me, some examples of more or less popular albums are "Make Yourself" by Incubus, "Neon Ballroom" and "Diorama" by Silverchair, "Parachutes" by Coldplay.
I believe Urbandub also belongs to the latter.
With that said, all it needs is time for listening.

Someone who likes Dream Theater, Rush, Liquid Tension Experiment... the likes. These bands are all about technicality and difficulty of harnessing their individual instruments. BTW, I think Dream Theater is an awesome band, although I think Labrie can't sing. hehe
