Nowitzki Leads Mavs Past Nuggets

DALLAS, April 2 (Ticker) -- Dirk Nowitzki put an end to the Dallas Mavericks' struggles.

Nowitzki collected 30 points and 12 rebounds as the Mavericks stopped a season-high three-game losing streak with a 103-79 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

Jason Terry added 21 points and Josh Howard 20 for the Mavericks (55-19), who took control of the game in the second half en route to winning for just the third time in eight games.

As usual, Nowitzki led the way for the Mavericks. The All-Star forward made 10-of-19 shots and all eight of his free throws.

"We had a lot more of a sense of urgency early on, said Nowitzki, who scored at least 20 points for the 21st straight game. "Our defense was actually really solid today."

DALLAS, April 4 (Ticker) -- Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks are back on track.

Nowitzki scored 29 points and Josh Howard added 23 as the Mavericks recorded their biggest offensive output of the season in a 127-101 rout of the Sacramento Kings.

Sparked by Nowitzki and Howard, the Mavericks won their second straight game by at least 24 points following a season-high three-game losing streak. They were coming off Sunday's 103-79 victory over playoff-bound Denver.

After a tight first quarter, the Mavericks outscored the Kings, 37-19, in the second period to open a commanding 63-41 halftime lead.

Howard scored 10 points and Nowitzki nine in second quarter, when the Mavs made 13-of-20 shots.

Dirk made the game winning shot with 7 tenths of a second left against the Clippers 75-73. this match-up is also one of the probable first round match-up in the west.
