    Sinyalan,

Can you tell us more about the Cacoy Cup? Do you know what group from Cebu joined? Siguro dili pa black listed ang mga pinoy players. Kulang lang siguro sa papers kay stricto naman kaayo ang US immigration. Kung wa jud sila ga prepare ug sakto na papers para ika pakita, dako jud kaayo chance ma deny. Maski man gani mga establish na companya diri sa Cebu magpadala ug employees for training sa US naa pa man gani ma deny.

About DUMAA eskrima sa Dumaguete City, naa jud sila ila distinct na style. Pero I think ila lineage is from Doce Generales, Balintawak and some other less known styles in Negros. Kusog pud ni ila grupo. They have competed and won a lot of tournaments in WEKAF and ARPI.

Choy Li Fut was developed by Chan Heung (1804-1875) in Guangdong, China, who learned martial arts from his uncle, a famous Shaolin Boxer. Chan Heung named this combination of styles after his two teachers, Choy Fok and Li Yau-San. Fut means Buddha in Cantonese, and was added to the name of his new style as an acknowledgement of his uncle and Shaolin roots of the system.

This style is a combination of many Chinese martial arts styles (including Southern and Northern styles), and includes the five animals: Tiger, Dragon, Crane, Leopard, Snake. Choy Li Fut also practices many of the traditional chinese weapons.

Prior to the advent of the Queensbury Rules, boxing went thru two previous Rule Changes, those being 'The London Prize Ring Rules' (183 and 'The Broughton Rules' (1743).

"Broughton's Rules" governed boxing from 1734 until 1838, under the reformed named "London Prize Ring Rules", which stated that a round ended when one fighter went down or his knee touched the ground. Broughton also introduced the idea of blocking and some defense to the sport.

The Broughton Rules curtailed the kicking, striking etc of downed opponents and prohibited grappling attacks below the waist. Both sets of Rules allowed for Wrestling, the Favourite Boxers throw being the Cross-Buttocks.

    1839 –

The Spanish government issued a decree granting the Chinese freedom of occupation and residence.

Filipino mystic Apolinario dela Cruz, known as “Hermano Pule” founded a religious lay brotherhood and led the 1839-1841 Cofrad*a de San José revolt. Hermano Pule embodied the religious aspirations and disappointments of the Filipinos. A pious individual who sought to enter a religious order, he made repeated applications that were turned down by the racially conscious friars, and he was left with no alternative but to become a humble lay brother performing menial tasks at a charitable institution in Manila. While serving in that capacity, he started the cofrad*a (confraternity or brotherhood), a society to promote Roman Catholic devotion among Filipinos.

From 1839 to 1840, Brother Apolinario sent representatives to his native Tayabas, south of Laguna de Bay, to recruit members, and the movement rapidly spread as cells were established throughout the southern Tagalog area. Originally, it was apparently neither anti-Spanish nor nativist in religious orientation, although native elements were prevalent among its provincial followers. Yet its emphasis on secrecy, the strong bond of loyalty its members felt for Brother Apolinario, and, above all, the fact that it barred Spanish and mestizos from membership aroused the suspicions of the authorities.

If somebody making this claim is speaking within the confines of the traditional martial arts dojo regardless of style or discipline, then personally I don't think any "Martial Arts" organization anywhere in the world will qualify as a "COMPLETE MARTIAL ART".

Anyone seriously looking for the "complete martial arts" from a combative perspective and not just for spiritual upliftment, discipline, physical fitness...and all that metaphysical mumbo jumbo, then I suggest you join the Philippine Military Academy, West Point, Army Rangers, Navy Seals, Green Beret, Delta Force, Spitznaz, Israeli Defense Forces, Gurkha Battalion, etc. etc.
