some facts about Manuel L. Quezon
From 1909-1916, he served as one of the Philippines' two resident commissioners to the U.S. House of Representatives, lobbying for the passage of the Philippine Autonomy Act or Jones Law.

Quezon suffered from tuberculosis and spent his last years in a "cure cottage" in Saranac Lake, New York, where he died on August 1, 1944. He was initially buried in Arlington National Cemetery. His body was later carried by the USS Princeton and re-interred in Manila at the Manila North Cemetery before being moved to Quezon City within the monument at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

Most of his later life was spent in the US, and he even died there.. I just wondered why he didnt even bothered going back to his country even when he was ill.

the answer is in your question
he did not come back, because he was sick
the best possible care for him was in the US

it does not mean he did not believe in what he said

its fine that the americans help us, because they really do
but lets not hand over control of our country to them
its like they are slowly invading us with their niceness, and our people blindly eat up everything

lets not blame his statement for an error we clearly brought upon ourselves
Quezon did not vote ERAP or any corrupt officials into power, we did
it seems funny to me that we mock his statement, after we made a mistake in choosing a leader

i only see one thing in Manuel Quezon's statement:

kung ikaw ang naa sa goberno ngano gud tawn imong ihatag sa lain ang opportunity to corrupt?
why give the americans a chance to be corrupt when we can do it on our own?
