Have you been to Mindanao? Or have you heard stories about war between tribes(muslim and natives) sa North of Luzon and sa Mindanao. Pilipinas gihapon na bai! Pero it's practiced. People kill themselves basta religion, land and culture ang awayan. Ang killings sad by these vigilantes sa ni occur sa different cities in the country. And by the way, I could have stressed more on 'FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE'. Just like herzabarJR's "Want to fight crime?? SHOOT BACK... Dont be a victim.... "

MelodyMan, in terms of cultural and/or religious differences, yes, all of us have different beliefs on that.. that's why muslims and christians can't go hand in hand most of the time, due to certain differences that sometimes one belief clashes to the other and vice versa..

anyway, i should've emphasized my point that what we are talking about here is "VIGILANTES IN CEBU".. but pardon me for that, the topic title was changed to "DEATH SQUAD STRIKES BACK" which i guess obviously pertains to the davao death squad if im not mistaken.. sorry about that..

On the other hand, I do agree with the others nga cradle of christianity gud unta! sakto ba? so dapat less jud unta ang crimes and that we learn to forgive.

Simple ... VIGILANTES = NO CRIMINALS / LESSER CRIMINALS .

it's not always the case though.. maybe you can add this on your formula:
VIGILANTES = LESSER CRIMINALS + MORE INNOCENT VICTIMS

@ HERZABAR .... you do have a point regarding the THEORY of the EXISTENCE . Though I assume that you are old enough to know these things and I am talking about in your mid to late 30's.... did you know it firsthand or did you know it from someone else . No offense but these kind of topics are very feasible when there is a drinking spree . Ive heard also a totally different concept of the existence of the so called VIGILANTES and stuff like why havent they had hit some big ones yet and all they prey are the " Kanang na-tulog sa katre..... namonit ug lata, namaligya ug lanzones. " I am talking about the one who really started it and who are who in the first round draft pick of pro hitmen of Cebu . Its not verified though and I dont want to name names either .

And who are the MAJORITY ? The family members of the CHRONIC CRIMINALS ? AFAIK ... the MAJORITY are the INNOCENT VICTIMS of these CHRONIC CRIMINALS . Even your family is included in the majority of the innocent .

imho, majority in a sense that there is an increase of CHRONIC CRIMINALS' on the loose.. this is also the sole reason why innocent victims are on the rise.. that being said, resorting to vigilantes' style of killing only make things worse knowing the fact that most often than not, a lot of INNOCENT victims are on the limelight-->not by criminals but by vigilantes..

And like I said how can there be MORE INNOCENT VICTIMS ? The only time there will be INNOCNT VICTIMS when these CHRONIC CRIMINALS are on the prowl .

The only INNOCENT people who are suffering are the people who are victimized by the CHRONIC CRIMINALS.

Again, how do you know that? The vigilantes could have been the ones killing these innocent people. For all you kbnw, the vigilantes are also chronic criminals.

as the police continue to face the proverbial blank wall in their investigation on the vigilante-style killings in Cebu City.

The 165th victim was shot dead yesterday, ironically, right outside one of the city's main Catholic cemeteries where he plied his
trade making tombstones.

The latest victim is 42-year-old Benjamin Raganas of barangay Carreta, sustained gunshot wounds on his head and body. Raganas,
single, reportedly had no previous record according to the police.

..and could you give me links to prove your statement? a lot has been reported about it.. i believe that the media has the ability to control information that the public needs to know.. and with all these reports, the media can't just feed us with ALL LIES as to why and how these bystanders were killed etc.. etc.. in case you don't know, the headline of the news alone can tell the whole story..
