FAAP AWARDS SILLIMAN UNIVERSITY "INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDIATION", THE HIGHEST DISTINCTION GIVEN TO A HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) has granted Institutional Accreditation to Silliman University, making Silliman the first and only school in the Visayas, and one of only five in the Philippines, to have such prestige.

Institutional Accreditation is the highest distinction awarded a higher education institution, in consideration of its number of high-level accreditation of its individual academic programs and overall evaluation of the quality of the university's facilities, services, and faculty. The University continues to be the school in the Philippines with the highest number of accredited programs.

Silliman also takes pride in being one of select universities in the Philippines granted Full Autonomous status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), giving it authority to develop its own programs without the necessary approval of CHED. This, on top of other CHED-designated distinctions:

Center of Excellence in Nursing Education
Center of Development in Accountancy
Center of Development in Biology
Center of Development in Information Technology Education

e-Sillimanian is an online game that can be downloaded from the Silliman University website (Silliman University, Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros, Philippines). It is an innovative and a non typical way of guiding students on the enrollment process of the university making it fun and educational at the same time.

The game starts when one chooses his/her character and which there are steps to follow to complete the enrollment procedure. It is also a virtual tour to the campus of Silliman making one familiarize on its buildings and surroundings. Some buildings have mini games to play, the goal is to unlock these buildings and collect some "achievements". There are also corresponding historical background of that building when one enters. A player can decide which way to go like as if really walking inside the campus with replicas of the school's landmarks. The game is won when the player successfully got his/her own ID.

I remember doing those types of educational games as a project for BSBCA. Kapuya, way tulog², sige ra ga-testing, sige ra ga-code, kapuya subay sa codes kung naay sayop oi ... taas na kaayo nya daghan na kaau gipang tawag na modules.

SU Elementary man tung among client adto so dapat naay daghan illustrations kay mga bata gud. Sus kapuya drawing kay sa akong grupo ako ra kamao nya di pa jud ko kamao sa mga advanced na programs like Corell Draw so MSPaint lang jud akong gigamit. Basic pa jud kaau na mga drawings... way arte².

Pero ... pasar man pud. Ang sa ubang groups adto kay mga objects ug characters sa Star Craft gipang gamit nila. Nindut ilaha.
