I started the idea of saving as much as I could when I was in my elementary days, grade 5 actually. cos suya ko sa aq mom dghan xa passbook. So I told to myself that Ill keep half of my allowance just to experience of how it is to have your own passbook. Pero wa jud q ato mga hunahuna nga naa ko paliton or unsa suya lang jud q sa aq mom.. The next thing I know is I was in 2nd yr highschool na nana diay q P104, 000 ... Lipay ayo ang bata pero I dont have any idea unsa kadghan ang ingana nga kwarta basta khibao q lipay ko but then my mom borrowed it ky nagkaproblem mi sa business and after 2 years thats the time I realized that I got nothing na diay... So to make the story short I promised to myself that never will I give everything I have again ..

(I mean dont get me wrong. I was happy nga at a young age I was able to help my mom and dad sa business but at the same time naka ana ko. How bout me?)

so karon.. Im jobless pa cos I took board exam last june and mura hapit nasad ta sa 150k ... puhon2 if magpadayon ang pagkaadik nga makasave lang prmi.. ^_^

You can't help others, if you can't help yourself first.

just remember, never confused a savings account as your stocks/investments account. they are 2 different things. the general rule is, if you can't afford to lose the money, it should go to a savings account. do not invest your savings account.

A reply from CEO of J.P. Morgan to a pretty girl seeking a rich husband
A young and pretty lady posted this on a popular forum:

Title: What should I do to marry a rich guy?

I'm going to be honest of what I'm going to say here.

I'm 25 this year. I'm very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above.

You might say that I'm greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York.

My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married?

I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you?

Among those I've dated, the richest is $250k annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit.

If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York City Garden(?), $250k annual income is not enough.

I'm here humbly to ask a few questions:
    1) Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)
    2) Which age group should I target?
    3) Why most wives of the riches are only average-looking? I've met a few girls who don't have looks and are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys.

    4) How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married)

    Ms. Pretty

A philosophical reply from CEO of J.P. Morgan:

    Dear Ms. Pretty,
I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor.

My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here.

From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain.

Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" and "money" : Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square.

However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year.

Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worse 10 years later.

By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position".
If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased".

Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

    Hope this reply helps.

    signed,
    J.P. Morgan CEO

Discipline is the key. Me I lack discipline when I was accumulating some fortune (past 5 years), I lost maybe 3M to wrong decisions and new habits (not drugs, women - i do not even drink) I have made. But even so, I came from nowhere (like we dont have food on our table), we sometimes steal food in order for us to eat. I am still happy for what I have accomplished. Use your head, do not procrastinate. If you have money, make it work for you while you are working. Right now, I have a good career, a decent paying Job, but my investments returns are in the 6 digit figure per month. And it started from 0. This is not bragging, you people do not know me personally therefore there is no point in bragging. I just want you to become disciplined pud, saka na lang mugasto ug taman naa nay passive income. ayaw lang sad palabian ug tipid (like mga insik nga datu karon) bisan 9 figures na ang kwarta sa banko, 60+ na ang edad, inot gihapon sa tanan. ambot kung madala nila ang kwarta sa langit (kung malangit man gani). so antos lang while you start, if you have passive income, hala gasto moderately, do not deprive yourself from a little luxuries in life. do what you want while you are young, go where you want, eat what you crave (moderately), kay kung tigulang na ka, dili na nimo mabuhat ang tanan.

Keep track of your targets, networth (even once a month), have a spreadsheet to keep track of it.

    asa ka ga invest sir?

    if you don't mind

  10. #730
    hmm medyo diversified
naa ko sa Financial Institutions (Prulife to be exact) I have life insurance policy there (2 policies), and 4 Investment inclined Policies.
I also have some "investment" (ownership) somewhere where monthly I just collect dividends I can't mention the business but my returns averages 4% monthly (not bad right)
Naa ko real estate (though I do no consider it really as an investment), nipalit ko ug house for my self, pero next year pa nako gamiton (or maybe later pa ana) but then naa may existing tenant therefore ang monthly rental, puno ra ko mga less than 1000, for my monthly mortgage, therefore it's ok na pud, they are paying for my monthly mortgage na. hehehe
Those are my two primary investments (passive) as I can't leave my work as it is good career pa naman so far.
