MAC = for serious graphics artist / designer, video editing. All my friends who studied Graphics Design/Art in SF use Power MACs G Series.
thats true. Macs are highly overrated as graphics designer machines. i mean people still use the same software i use photoshop illustrator and in design...just what a mac does WOW! heck even my gateway has better graphics card than the macbook. so im suppose to do graphics better?Originally Posted by coolnezz

you can see what machines they're using.
hint: i don't see them using PCs for their design projects.
graphic artists/designers who use PCs for their projects just can't afford to buy MACs. but that's just my opinion.
lol thats coming from a newbie. NO WAY do you need a Mac to do graphics design. want proof?Originally Posted by coolnezz

my gateway or dell can smoke any Macbook or MAC. as for graphics studios in the states thats just them and want to stereotype everyone else, id like to bet that MAC probably even sponsors them
graphics design for the web and for print are different. for print you need precise color calibration.
For very high-end work where precision color-matching is absolutely required, the Mac continues to have a slight edge.
and most print-based graphic designers still use Apple Macs and many graphic artists and pre-press bureaus still prefer dealing with documents created on the Macintosh platform. It is also generally accepted that color calibration is more reliable on the Macintosh platform.
but don't take my word for it, ask the professionals.

LOL the only difference is color calibrationis web uses RGB and print uses CMYK. which can be done in a simple option in photoshop or illustrator. there is no Mac graphics software that exclusively works on a MAC, because i teach photoshop to my friend who has a mac and its really not much different from a pc.Originally Posted by coolnezz
