People always say crap about Vista when their system can't handle it. THAT IS NOT VISTA's fault. Also, memory that isn't used is wasted memory. ALL memory should be used all the time. Vista will always use up all your memory if you have superfetch enabled, which you should. Vista fills all your memory with the most frequently used programs. If memory is needed for programs you don't use as much, Vista simply clears memory for it. In any case, with your system specs, I wouldn't even bother installing Vista.
I have an Ultimate license for Vista, and it was the best Windows experience I've had. I don't use Vista anymore, but that isn't anything against Vista, Linux was just a better development environment for me.
