Finally bought the 8800GT 512mb .. I got it sa Gilmore for 10,500 (Palit non Sonic version). I needed a single slot version for the Shuttle P2 case.. so I couldnt buy the Palit Sonic.
It was either this or the HD 3850 512mb... performance wise.. dako ug difference. With regards sa price mahal mahal pa man ang HD3850 512mb... so I chose Nvidia.

I'm getting pretty high temps sa Palit mainly because of my cramped case.. At default settings it seems that the fan only spins at 25% kung below 80c.
This causes temps to rise up to 70-78s. Fort some reason the default settings sa Riva Tuner specify that his card operates from 80c - 100c with temps lower than 80c resulting in 25% fan speed and temps nearing 100c causing 100% fan speed. This wasn't good enough for me since I want the card to Idle at around 60c.

I used Riva Tuner to create a fan profile for the card keeping into consideration cooling and noise.

For 8800 owners, Here's a helpful guide on how to setup Riva Tuner to control the fan speed depending on temps

    http://www.vaguesoft.com/users/dwood...als/rivatuner/

Based on my tests, At idle I get around 60-65c with the fan at 40%. At full load the fan spins up to 100% which is very noisy... Temps are at 85-90c at this point
The fan starts to get loud at around 60-70% speed so I had to balance noise and heat. If this were placed in a case with better ventilation, I'd probably see a drop in 10c across all tests.
If you don't need a single slot card, go for the Sonic version...

EVen with the temps reaching 90c, there were no artifacts in games and the card has been pretty stable even at high temps.

there is a slight edge sa shader clock increase compared to core clock increase... but for me, they are equally significant bro...

here's the link to that review pointing difference between the 3 clock increase.
