I was saddened to hear the news... and at the same time i felt lucky for not experiencing a pitiful life as she had... i hope we all realize the blessings we receive and not take it for granted..

why should we blame the gov't for the girls suicide.. don't you think we should first look at the parental guidance issue in here? If only their situation was explained well to their kids and constant open communication was there, I dont think a tragic consequence should have happened.. there was a time in my life that we were really at our most diffucult status but we never loose hope, we strived hard and prayed hard to make things well... it only depends in someone's outlook and perspective in life.. in this world, we need to be strong in facing the challenges and obstacles that come our way, it maybe a cliche but yes poverty is not a hindrance to success...

Suicide is really not the answer when problems of poverty and hunger strikes our people. There is always light at the end of the tunnel as they say. And in order to see that light one person must be willing to find other means to survive rather than ending one's life. I think we Filipinos should the values of hard work and self-discipline. If we have these then we earn a living and we won't complain that the government is giving us nothing. In Marianette's case, it is clear that the child really gave up on their family situation. Too bad that news reports made her death a big issue and so political opponents took the opportunity to use it against the administration.

Yes there are many poor people in the Philippines, though the number of those who claim self-rated poverty declined. It's wrong to say that the government is to be blamed for Marianette's death. And it's even wrong to say that PGMA is responsible. How about local authorities in Davao? How about our legislators who instead of making social legislations and using their pork barrel to fund local programs, focus on unending investigations in the Senate and in the House? Are they not to blame too? They have their own social responsibilities as officers of this land.

BUT the cause of her suicide is a web of factors. My God, she is just a child, so wala pa juy sakto sa buot. Mostly the main cause is psychological, be it from the genes, or from the environ around her. Dili man sab kha na cya abused child, molested, raped, or incest?
The parents should have been the first ones to detect her depression which led to her suicidal tendency...tsk..tsk...negligence pud ni da...

BUT I STRONGLY DISAGREE OF THIS TOPIC'S TITLE: "12 yr old girl commits suicide coz of poverty". PLS AYAW GAMITA ANG PAGKA POBRE AS CAUSE OF SUICIDE. It will be just the same as doing crime or prostitution coz of poverty. Sayop, sayop, sayop!!! Please revise the title. Daghan kaau mas correct pa ana nga title.

Had the father had decent job which can provide for the needs of the girl, this could not have happened. Some say that the government should not be blamed for the incident. The government just brought it upon themselves. Hd they not advertise that "ramdam na ramdam ang asenso" ad, this unfortunate incident could not have boomeranged on them.

Thats the problem of the government today. They have this penchant for propaganda, but when reality strikes they are quick to immunize themselves from responsibility.

mao na before ka magminyo, think of the future first. huna2x a sa if maka provide ba ka sa needs sa imong mahimong pamilya. saun sad ning mga pinoy bisan way klarong trabaho, mag dali2x og minyo unya daghan raba kaayo og anak. maayo untag pwedi rang i lawig ang mga anak murag kanding.
if the government failed to improve our economy, we have no choice but to adjust to the situation. sacrifices should be made. if you think you are not capable of raising siblings, then it would be better not to get married and if already married, better have a family planning.
and one thing, propagandas are very helpful because it could raise the morale of the people. some might be exaggerated but its helpful to reduce despair to the people. it could win wars.

To those who have condemned the death of the girl because 'tanga" sya kay nganong maghikog sya nga dghan pa mas lisod sa iya.Huna-hunaa lang ninyo nga dil iparehas tanan nga tawo.We should condemn those people who are abusing their own body through drug,prostitution,.I pity the girl because in her young mind nakasabot na sya sa kalisod sa panginabuhi.

When government failed in its promises, people have no choice but are told to bear and grin it. What makes more scandalous and I would say callous of the entire situation is that millions of Filipinos like Marianette Amper are wallowing in poverty, this government is shameless in distributing cash gifts to their allies.

Why the use of propaganda? Why lie the true situation of the country to the people. Is it not the government is all about transparency? sincerity and integrity. Precisely, the government is at war. It is at war because of its own foolishness and the people are made to pay. The present propaganda definitely did not raise the morale of the people. It breeds more contempt against the government given its insensitivity to the plight of the masses.

i saw the girl's family on Wish ko Lang... man, her brother and sister was old enough to help their family, even by just toiling or planting something i think they could generate some income. i think her siblings were just too lazy to help or better yet maybe they still want their parents to manually feed them.
