I believe reason alone will not find God. I think it will come up with a stalemate. In cases of insufficient data, when reason cannot continue, perhaps, one may try listening to one's hunch (gut) or intuition (heart).

The faculties seem more like subtle emotional skills than intellectual ones yet, the result is a sense of like one knows the matter (it may be made "pending proof," if verification is possible). It's also like the result of a sensory experience (where one can say one has witnessed it), where the result is also a sense of knowledge though, the nature of that "sensory mechanism" maybe unclear, and one only gets handed the conclusion.
