in my opinion, mura lahi gyud ang lifestyle sa US ug dri sa Pinas. considering financial differences. dali ra gyud ka maka palit ug butang sa US with your monthly salary. so you can have different gadgets for different usage. dri sa atua, mas kumplito ang features sa gadget mas maayu kay you can have everything in one. mas sulit ba. mahal man gud mga butang dri mas mu prefer mga tao ug all in one. plus, garbo pud sa atua kung atung gadget can do everything.

When it comes to browsers - no comparison.. iPhone's OSX works way better - faster .. compared to the sluggish (this word was often used when reading reviews about the N95) N95.
The iPhone does have a 3.5mm jack .. but it's a different 3.5mm jack because of the voice input feature on the headphone. If you take a closer look at the jack - its 3.5mm thick but it's got 3 sections instead of 2 (stereo 3.5mm headphone).

Nice points... if only the iPhone was released worldwide. Steve Jobs should get rid of his 'exclusivity' thinking. I heard this new info that no one person can buy more than 1 iPhone from the online apple store. IF the apple store accepted all credit card instead of locking out millions of buyers around the globe Steve would have gotten billions more and I would have my iphone right now with the proper price and the proper warranty.

Again bai. and iphone diri pinas pwerting mahala. more than 100% ang ginancya. And their excuse it tax and it being unlocked. so I will get my iphone next year when it is properly launched here.

OT: yeah daghan mi sa cebu samot sa manila. 3-4 months ago on the game store we frenquent in ayala there are alot of kids bringing their parents asking for a gameboy advance pero karong sus PSP na pangayoon. especially sa paggawas sa slim and lite version. and DS di kaau dahan users.

tintoy.. I agree with you about garbo... Me and alvingo had a similar discussion in another thread. But as far as phone functions.. Dili man sab gud necessarily nga the more features the better... Especially if the phone is a bit slow in performing these extra features. Sa tanan reviews nga akong nabasahan, ang pagka sluggish sa N95 ang ilang pinaka unang reklamo.. Next is the battery life.
Don't get me wrong.. The N95 is a good phone.. Pero the extra $$$ don't justify the phone as a whole.

N95 is Symbian OS v9.2. Daghan baya review nga slow kuno ni ang mga Symbian OS.
Asa ma'y paspas nila sa IPhone's OS X?.

Wala man sad ko'y makit-an nga benchmark sa Symbian OS v9.2 VS OS X gud.

Hopefully naay maka-post sa link diri about sa benchamrk sa duha ka OS. Para maka-vote sad ko.

Or just burn the data straight to DVD and use the DVD player... makes more sense, right? .. and with the phone's battery life - do you need to have the thing plugged to its charger to use it as a video source? Too involved for my taste. There's this thing called a camcorder which does the job better... and with HD quality, grandma can see her wrinkles on TV. Again, why use the phone when you can use something else that serves the purpose better. By the way - with the N95's battery life, how many minutes of video can the phone record? Wouldn't it suck if the phone runs out of juice at the middle of Grandma's song? Why not have a complete gear? naa nakay point and shoot and a DSLR which you bring EVERYDAY plus imong N95 pa gyud, hey - why stop there? Grab a camcorder, clearly you can afford one. Why bother using a sluggish gadget as a camcorder when a stand-alone camcorder is available with HD quality? I agree that the bluetooth capability is something the iPhone needs to work on - bluetooth can work on the iPhone pero only for calls, I have no idea kung a bluetooth stereo headphones mo work ba sa iphone. By the way, wala ko kabalo ani pero does the headset sa N95 magamit sab ug calls?
Super compact? I wouldn't say that ... thinner than a pack of gum? Ambot lang kaha, dugay dugay nasab ko wala kapalit ug juicy fruit .. pero para nako, baga ang N95. Bulky compared to the phones I had. You wonder why I say daghan kawatan ug cellphone sa Cebu... are you serious? Pila ka cases diri lang sa istorya nga gi kawatan ug cellphone. Ako danghag man gyud ko pagka taw pero I've never lost a cellphone.. not once. And I've had cellphones since 1994. Diha, 1 out of 5 cellphone users nakawatan or gi tulis tungod sa telepono.Do you really need a GPS in Cebu? Seriously... pila na ka tuig diha - do you still need it? I was in Tuscon, Arizona during the weekend for the USTA Tennis Nationals and yes, I needed GPS to find the Villa we rented, the tennis courts, the national parks, indian reservations, and Nogales (Mexico) which was 2 hrs away ... pero ug diha lang sa Cebu, masaag pa kaha ka? or Arte arte lang gyud.
Shackles? depends on your point of view - kay tungod sa itunes, diha sila mag sige'g update and diha sab sila maka pugong sa mga cracks and hacks. Pero I think it's a great feature kay fully upgradeable - and because of the iPhones OS, I know Apple can remedy the iPhone's shortcomings. That's your opinion.. I have mine. WIRED magazine actually called the iPhone "the Phone of all Phones" sa ilang review.. pero what do they know. I bet you know more than these guys.... since they gave the N95 a bad review. Slow/Sluggish kuno.. not worth the pricetag... lags a lot.. and drains the battery bisag ga standby. By the way, aside from your DSLR camera, the N95, and your point and shoot camera, do you also bring a baseball bat and a taser as well?
whats this cry about using it as a dvd player...why?
are movies intended to be viewed in a small screen such that of ur phone?!
are music players intended to make cellphone calls?
what makes more sense to me (someone who hates bringing a cam corder) is on one card deck size device of a cellphone carries my extensive photo collection and homevideos that i can share on a big screen on the spot without having to relay on firewireport, video rendering,pc,softwares, dvd buring, dvd player, etc. to share the experience with my friends/family. i could even simply bluetooth the video clip as easily as i would make another cellphone call to their compatible phones...can your iphone do that?

i never liked cam corders i dont intend to buy one...
you'd have to pay me a lot of money to even carry one at all...
do you carry ur cam corder everyday?
sure i can afford a hundred camcorders but I DONT WANT ONE...id rather buy and bring another still camera hahaha
i bring my phone along everyday. if i need to take videos on the spot its good to have it rather than not having any video gear at all. right tool for the job. who said anything about transfering the files to pc?
its videos taken on the phone during those unexpected yet memorable moments and played back on a big 20 year old TV also without plans...no dvd buring...no file transfering...no editing...just my phone. i hate video editing. i hate video rendering. i hate working on videos period. thus this works great for me.

well, not quite a baseballbat and tazer...but magdala ko ug bunal under the seat of my car and a portable mace (thanks to abortretryfail) on my person when im around places i dont quite know very well. mas bugat man gud ang tazer and mas bulky to bring around specially with all my other gear i bring with me.
now stop insisting on another bulky gadget like an HD camcorder for me to bring along with my still camera and phones...bottomline im very happy with this phones video capabilities at very low capacity requriements...

example1: i go to a party. food and drinks are expected. friends/family are there. i ready my camera. taking hundres of snap. all of the sudden, to my surprise of everyone... my bro is going to dance as a surprise presentation. (if you know my bro, you would never expect him to dance...EVER!)
handy n95 was there to capture the action. i just ask my sister to take the video. i kept snapping away with my dslr. with the n95 i didnt have a dilema to bring a video cam or not coz if i did i would have chosen not to bring anyways. with the n95 phone that goes with me everyday and all day...i get very good video capture as bonus.

example2: 2 weeks ago i had a business trip in my lola's provice (tried as i might, i cudnt stay for more than 24hours as i had another business meeting the very next day that i couldnt move)...i didnt even annouce my visit to any relatives there since i was only there for a day and i figured there might not be any time to see my relatives. a cousin found out while i was there and to make the long story short i couldnt refuse to pass by my lola's place 6am on route going to my next stop. grab the portable cable thats always in my laptop bag. attached it to her 20year old tv. showed them how we are in cebu thru clips of videos and photos from my phone of the family and stuff. no preparation. no planing. just spur of the moment on the spot situations the truely make it a memorable experience. sure having breakfast with my lola at our ancestral home would have been memorable enough but having that phone at my disposal just made it 10x better the 20-30mins i spent with her...

i am talking bout losing phones by any means because of thier leather case/belt clip...read your own post again please...

you ask unsay gamit sa GPS diri cebu...im just answering your question.
it works with all the bells and whistles...sure i know my way around cebu. but navigation (works in english, chinese, indonesian, malay and vietnamese) is just one of its features. besides did i say GPS is limited to cebu only? and ever think of those thousands of people from manila or other parts of the country who might not be so familiar with cebu but owns an n95 and expects to visit cebu?

example3: a shoot i did for a magazine last month which was also covered by FTV. FTV crew asked me to email them directions to the location. i did plus a map (modified google maps). but still they got lost as they took one wrong turn. turns out they are from manila working here in cebu for FTV. good thing the producer was an n95 user. i just sent him the location of where i was (send location is a feature in navfone program). they followed the navigation and they got to the location in mins without further incident

ey im not embarassed to admit i still dont know my way around manila and the maps in my navfone and GPS has help me out in more than one occasion.
i can also keep track of my max/avg speed, distance/time of travel, etc.on my phone but since my car is equiped with 3rd eye GPS tracking system https://www.istorya.net/forums/index.php?topic=138364.0 i dont need my phones GPS for this
but what the heck...its FREE bitaw
when i travel to other places i still use GPS to help me find my way. doesnt matter where i go, ...manila...singapore...hk...us...yes i have their maps on my phone and i use them. just search the hotel im staying. the places il be going. plot them on my map ahead of time for faster navigation.

besides music function you can talk using the n95 headset. take calls, end calls, etc. headset has builtin mic and buttons to control your calls.

the need for itunes seems like shackles to me...itunes a must? tsk tsk.
fully upgradable? so? do you need WMP to update s.e., moto, nokia's? no! and they are all fully upgradable as well you can update your playlist and music of an nseries phone via windows media player but its not a must, its only one of the options...we have the option to use other means...explorer drag and drop via mass storage...pcsuite...3rd party programs...bluetooth...ir...wifi...download direct from the net, etc. i like my options and my freedom

no matter what magazine or person claiming that iphone to be the phone of all phones...having used it and many other phones, i just dont buy it...its my opinion and thats my opinion...if you think my opinion doesnt matter...then thats your opinion...if you think what wired magazine says to be the jesus phone is indeed the jesus phone then naa rapud na nimo

btw, ive been officially contacted by an international company para magreview ug mga bagong phones. padalhan ko nila ug mga units from london to me here in cebu for my take on these units so it seems they find me credible enough

btw, sorry for the unorganized reply...medyo dinalian...gtg...

Sa imong argument - N95 is better because:

1 The Video Camera capability - Yeah - why insist and cry about using your phone as a camcorder? Cool feature I admit - but again... why does it make more sense in using your phone as a camcorder when record time is limited.. battery life is notoriously short and video quality isn't quite that good. Does that make any sense to you? Even if the iPhone can do this, I'd still won't use it as a camcorder, I hardly even use it as a camera. Same analogy as to why drive a Toyota when you have a Lexus. Why use something just because it's capabale of doing it while something else can do it but only better? But if you would rather use your phone, that's all up to you.
The video playback capabilities in phones is great I admit. Especially when you're in a plane - or maybe in long drives (I say maybe because I'm always the driver). But if I have an alternative - then I'll just chuck my phone in my pocket like what happened with my Flight to and from Arizona. Jet Blue has sattelite TV in their planes, I never did take my phone out from my pocket throughout the flight. A smaller screen will never be better than a bigger screen of an acceptable video quality.

As far as iPhone's music capabilities - we all agree that the iPhone has the best pre-amp out there amongst all mp3/m4a phones. Now that 3rd party manufacturers are making headsets for the iPhone, even better (Apple's headphones are crap).

By the way - I know you're familiar with the new camcorders that came out - they're really not as bulky as DSLR cameras (given the extra lenses).

Is this even bulky at all? Cumbersome to carry? (as if you're slinging your DSLR all the time, I'm sure you have a bag for that) - I agree it's not as small as a card deck but it sure is as big as a zoom lens packed DSLR camera - PLUS - it's High Def!.

2 GPS - Surprisingly you have high praises about its GPS feature - while reviews states otherwise saying that it was most often inaccurate and slow to refresh and also have problems with constant dropouts. If it works great diha nimo.. cool! Perois it good enough to replace a stand-alone GPS device?
Now I am not really a GPS user... just happens nga katung naa ko sa Arizona, the GPS came with the rental car. I think the GPS is a cool feature and I wish Apple would soon incorporate that in their phones .. but is it really necessary for a phone to have one? Not really pero it's a plus. For the N95 being equipped with GPS - I don't think it's worth the extra $$$ - especially when it's got some issues with its functionality.

    3. Bluetooth Capability - I know that the iPhone's bluetooth capabilities isn't as refined as the N95. It's a necessary feature - I just hope Apple can remedy this drawback - It's a shame that people cannot use bluetooth stereo headphones with iPhones.. not yet anyways (I hope they do update A2DP capabilities to the iPhone). Personally, I'm not big on Bluetooth headsets - lahi ra gyud ang headphones nga naka hardwire - sound quality, zero interferance .. As far as transferring files - iPhones suck at this - are they concerned about piracy and such? I don't know.

    4. iTunes as a constraining program - again, depends to the person's point of view ... if you have a hacked iPhone, then you see this as such .. but for users with legit iPhones, it's not - and why complain? iTunes is so easy to use ------ plus with itunes, wmp, musicmatch, etc.. you still need to connect to your PC regardless. It's also a great channel in which you can easily update your phone without checking for updates from the Apple website.

    -----------------------

About the clip holders - I'm saying that's it's not the best way to go sa Cebu tungod sa kadaghang kawatan ug tulisan. It's not practical, especially for an expensive phone.
    -----------------------

Anyhow - after all your arguments - I'd say yeah, the N95 has more features but - is it worth the much added $$$? I say NO. The N95 is almost twice the price of the iPhone and most of its features, the iPhone can do it better. The OS itself is of no comparison AT ALL. As far as reviews go (and this not coming from only one source) - The N95 is sluggish, slow, poor battery life, the poorly designed sliding feature, cheap materials, etc... too many significant drawbacks for a phone that costs too much. You see people switching from N95 smartphones, Palm Treos, Samsung Blackjacks, Sidekicks, Blackberries to the iPhone but hardly the other way around - is it all out of novelty? I really don't think so.

Pero don't get me wrong bai ... I got your point - although the N95's extra features can never replace stand alone devices, they're there for you to use. I get that. Pero lahi tang duha, lahi imong gamit sa cellphone, lahi sab ako-a. Ang ako-a man gud, the iPhone can "ALMOST" replace my laptop when I'm out and about - yes, I do carry my macbook pro with me pero ug naa ko sa Bus or naglakaw sa dan, I don't have time to open my laptop and do the things I need to do - so I rely on my iPhone (sa una akong Blackberry). Can the N95 do just the same? I sure think so - pero again, the iPhone has a more superior OS in all aspects - and it makes my job easier.

    my $.02
