Opt for Leyte(Tacloban - Palompon - Bogo - Cebu City) instead of Masbate. There are more sights to see with this route than when you pass through Masbate. I think it's also cheaper going this route, and more ports to choose from when riding a RORO going to Cebu. The RORO schedule are as follows:

via Palompon-Bogo - 8:00am daily (3hrs travel time)
via Isabel(Pingag ferry Terminal 20min from Palompon; 45 min from Ormoc) - Danao City - 1:00pm daily (4hrs travel time)
via Ormoc City - Cebu City - 9pm nightly (6hrs travel time)
via Baybay City-Cebu (idk the sched)
via Maasin City- Cebu
Via Naval, Biliran- Cebu

Cebu is a port city and as such it is more convenient for Cebuanos going to Manila just by riding a ship. Before, travelling by land here in our country is a backbreaking experience. Your sexy bum will lose all of its fat content by the time you reach Manila. And this won't be the least of your problems. But through former president GMA's efforts of revitalizing the nautical highways, going to Manila or any other places in the country is now a breeze. Not really that smooth sailing, but pretty efficient nonetheless.

I just traveled from Manila to Sogod, Southern Leyte this week. I spent 3000 for Diesel and 2000 for the ferry. The ferry cost more because I need to get the services of the fixer to expedite boarding the RORO. It's passenger season nowadays, the line is about a hundred cars, buses and trucks. Plus meals...

weee sorry mga istoryan's la ko ka update nnyo . . . actually super ok and kapoi ayu ang trip pero nice man xa walay kolba basta straight straight lng inyo byahe sa ako case duha rami sa ako brother nag puli puli drive. carefull mo sa srosogon na pier kay mangwarta ang mga porter buh na or ambot onsay tawag ana mo assist nimo pag pasakay sa sakyanana buh ... it takes us almost 2 days na byahe pero sulit kay kakita mi different places sa manila hehehe kato nahan og road trip nice ayo heheh specially if barkadas hehehe e make sure lng condition inyo sakyanan and never stop sa mga ngit ngit na lugar sa amo case mga 1am sa kadlawn kami duha sa ako brother gi duka ngeta mi hayag og gas station para dili kuyaw. ang road pod leyte to samar ok ra less ang rough roads . sorsogon to manila ok rapod pero naa jud part na lubaong ang dalan. try mo hapit mayon volcano in our case malas lng mi wala mi kita sa mayon kay cloudy man at that time. pede sad mo mohapit tagaytag bugnaw like baguio kakita pamo sa taal hehehhe basta try this road trip adventure i suggest 3 mo ka driver and if possible mag sa 3 ka drver naay usa matulog ang usa tabang bantay sa dan inig abot jud sa manila or sa SLEX or NLEX becarefull sa inyo speed lmit. kuyaw ang SLEX og NLEX prone sa disgrasxa kay kusog managan ang manga sakyanan. . . . kung are mo agi leyte maka save jud mo sa gasto e compare sa bogo to batangas or negros to batangas. mas cheaper ang leyte mas pinaka stress sa mga drvers hehehe pero ok ra kay lingaw man dala joy ride site seeing hehehe

Me just arrive sad sa akong road trip Visayas-Luzon for 18 days, entrance Bacolod-iloilo-Caticlan-Mindoro-Batangas, then from Alabang naug Bicol Region stop over sa Legazpi then head towards Matnog, Sorsogon and Samar-Leyte na stop over in Tacloban then Tacloban to Palompon-Bogo then home sweet home Cebu City hehehehe
