The "Matrix" scenario may be plausible, but I honestly believe that, if we are capable of creating something that has the potential to destroy us, then we are also capable of developing ways NOT to make that happen. A good example are nuclear weapons. If we didn't have the sense and greater intelligence how to control this technology, we could've been all wiped out even just a decade after we humans discovered its power. Call me an optimist, but I firmly believe that all future AI can only be benign, because by that time, humans wouldve matured intellectually and emotionally, to put the proper safeguards in place.

i hope your optimism bring us more good than bad. there are always bad elements trying to derail a world of no perfection. why? because we have seen worst past history, WWI AND WWII and other wars technology has done harmful effects to people. and history always repeat by itself because of the balance.

Have you seen a graph of world population after after the two world wars, esp. after world war II? If that graph showed negative human population growth, then maybe I'd say that wars have created technologies more harmful to humankind than helpful, and thus I beg to differ.

mao nay ingon diha bro that "life should go on" despite of the wars that have passed. but there will always be a sweep done by forces that cannot be controlled. though technology has helped us a lot I hope to agree that these will be used for the greater good. i also hoped if God permits there wont be WWIII because we will be expecting mightier war techs to come that we have never seen before. pls note that after WWII there are lots of countries arming for nuclear war tech, i hope they will be sleeping when that time comes.

    Hi Velvett!

I never had problems with graveyard shift nor swing shifts yet I have to say "NO" for the normal working hours. All of us in our family cannot sleep at night or having challenges in sleeping at night. Working in a call center is a blessing in disguise, but thanks for the info though.

    With love,
    JAME
