DID YOU KNOW?
Green poop in hedgies indicate several things. Your hedgehog's stomach bile is color green, any upset or stress could lead to excess amount of bile in your hedgie's digestive tract. It is also a sign that food has not been properly digested.
If you brought home a new hedgie, he could also get green poop due to change of environment. This usually goes away if your hedgehog have settled in to his new environment.
Change of food/water could also upset your hedgehog's stomach. If you also gave your hedgie a new treat, this could also result to his green poop. If possible, if your hedgie is new to his home, feed him the same diet that the breeder has given him and if you decide to change it, do it once he has settled down in a few weeks. This usually goes away too once your hedgehog has adapted to his new diet.
One thing that is alarming in green stools is when your hedgehog starts changing his activity, and loss in appetite. This could be a result to something more serious. Bring him to a vet ASAP to check if he has any infection and also to cope up with dehydration.
